"Lynn!" I gasped. "What did you do?!" "What do you mean, what did I do?" Lynn replied innocently. "Don't lie," I said, "everyone is literally lying on the floor behind you, and yet you say you didn't do anything." "You're a really bad liar." Andrew added. I had forgotten he was behind me! Lynn rolled her eyes. "So what if I absorbed their shadows to create an army that will help me take over this dimension maybe knocking them out for a bit in the process? They'll be fine. Probably." Lynn said. It took a second for Andrew and I to process this. "WHAT?!" Andrew yelled, "How is that even possible?!" Lynn smirked, walking over to Andrew. "I'm a reflektion, Andrew." she said. Andrew took a step back. "How do you know my name?" He asked. "You can thank your little girlfriend over there." Lynn said, nodding towards me. I looked down, but I could still feel Andrew's hurt. "Ash?" Lynn laughed. "Looks like the cat's out of the bag. Whoopsie-daisy!" She said. A singular tear rolled down my cheek. "I'm sorry." I whispered. "Well, I just need to finish my job here." Lynn said, "Shadow army! Arise!" Then she paused. "Is that too cliche?" She asked. "Shadows, wake! No, I don't like that either. You know what, Shadows, come to me!" The collapsed student's shadows slithered up the wall, and then to my horror- just popped out of the wall. "Shadow Bee" waved her hand at me. "What's going on?!" Andrews yelled, panicked. "Oh, that's simple." Lynn said, suddenly behind him. "It's the end of the world." With a playful "boop!" she poked Andrew in the back and he fell over. "Andrew? Andrew!" I scream, running over to him. His limp body hung in my arms, tears streaming down my cheeks. "Ash..." He said, "You have to do it. If you don't..." I cried harder. With the last of his strength, he reached up and gently kissed me on the cheek before going limp again. His shadow slithered out of the wall to join the others, telling me that I failed. He was gone. "It's all your fault, you know." Andrew's voice called. I spun around. His shadow was there, looking very angry. Next to him was shadow Bee. "You let her get me. You let her get him." Shadow Bee told me. "No...no I didn't!" I cried. "Don't fight the truth." Shadow Andrew taunted. "Deep down in your heart, you know you'll never protect everyone you love. You know you'll always be a failure." I tried not to let them get into my head, but their words hit true. "When you did have me, you lied to me." Shadow Bee said. "You left me behind constantly, even though I tried to be nice to you. I was only warm and sweet, but you were just cold in return." She was right. I was a terrible friend... "And just think about poor Emmy!" Shadow Andrew exclaimed. "She so desperately wanted to be your friend, to be your sister...but you saw her kindness as annoying. You pushed the person who loves you more than anyone else in the world away." Shadow Bee added. I fell to my knees, clasping my hands over my ears. "Please, stop!" I sobbed, "I'm begging you! Stop, stop, please!" But they wouldn't stop. "And Bill!" Shadow Andrew exclaimed. "He was only trying to be a good dad, but you're too self-absorbed to accept anyone else as your dad. So you decided to just be rude to him." "No, no, no, stop, please!" "Don't worry, I'll make it stop." I looked up to find Lynn standing over me. "Night-night, Ashlynn." She reached out her hand to me. I closed my eyes and braced for impact, but it never came. Instead, I heard Lynn falling backwards and hitting the ground. "Step away from my daughter!" A voice yelled. I opened my eyes. The first thing I saw was the glowing swords. The second thing I saw was Bill and Emmy, holding the glowing swords. Emmy waved at me, smiling wide. "Hi sissy!"
