I gasped. No. She couldn't be here. "Lynn!" I gasped. "Miss me?" She said, smiling. "Not at all! You tried to manipulate Emmy into freeing you!" I said. Lynn laughed. "Looks like the wrong sister did it, though." She said, "Nice job, by the way. You were so brave and heroic...but then you ended up letting me out after all. All while trying to keep your sister from doing exactly what you did." I took a step back. No. No! This couldn't be my fault...I didn't do anything except...except break the mirror. My heart sank. All those times Lynn tried to embarrass me...she wasn't trying to embarrass me, she was trying to break the mirror. "It was breaking the mirror, wasn't it? That's what let you out. That's what you've been trying to do all this time when you were pretending to be my friend." I said. "You're just now figuring that out?" Lynn said, "Wow. And here I thought you were actually smart." "I am smart!" I argued. "You wish." Lynn scoffed. "Yes, breaking the mirror I was currently in sent me out of my dimension and into yours. It could've been a whole lot easier if you had just taken me up on my deal and decided to switch with me for a day but, well, that's that. You can't change the past, but you can change the future." "I never would've made a deal with you." I said. "Yeah, I figured as much." Lynn said. "You suspected I was hiding something pretty early on. That's one of the only smart things you've done in the short time we've been together. But not accepting my deal? Sorry, sister. But that was a huge mistake. "But why do you want to be here so bad?" I asked, "You made it sound like you had everything in the world." Lynn opened her mouth to answer, but just then, someone pushed me back. "Out of the way, Ashlynn! I need to speak with the new girl." Brianna said, going up to Lynn. "Okay, listen new girl, I know you just started here today, but you are going to fit RIGHT in. Here, come hang with my friends. Meet Daniella, Payton, and Bella..." As Brianna dragged Lynn away to meet her friends, Lynn looked back at me. She shot me a smug grin and joined Brianna and all of her annoying cool kid friends. "Welcome to Haylen middle school! My name is Bella." I heard Bella tell Lynn. I clenched my fist. Stupid Brianna! I was going to find out just why Lynn was here and she just HAD to ruin it! Brianna and her dumb cool kid friends. Bee ran up to me, sweating and out of breath. "Not cool!" She exclaimed, "You totally ran off on me like that. Do you know how hard it was to run past that entire group of kids? It was like, SUPER HARD! But I would do anything for my best friend. Yet you still are constantly hiding things or running off! What is with you?" That's when she spotted Lynn with the "cool kids". "Oh, Ash, look, it's Payton!" Bee squealed. "And...he's with a new girl? She must be new. I've never seen her before. And I pretty much know everyone in the school. But she's so pretty!" I gave her a quick pinch in the arm. "Girl, what the heck?!" I said. Why did everyone seem to like Lynn so much?! "Sheesh, I was just trying to be nice to the new girl. Why the heck are you being so rude today? Are you jealous or something?" Bee asked. "I'm not jealous of the new girl!" I snapped. Bee shrugged. "Whatever you say." She said "Anyways, speaking of the new girl, she kind of looks like you a little..." I rolled my eyes. A younger-looking girl who was standing behind me whispers "Maya, Don't you think class is starting soon?" Her friend, whose name is apparently Maya, shakes her head. "Don't be so paranoid, Amy." She says, "We'll be fine." Well, those two kids jinxed it, because that was the very second our teacher stepped into the hall. "What is going on here?" They yelled. "Into class, all of you!" There was a collective groan amongst the students. "No arguing!" My teacher yelled. "I am not afraid to give out detentions to every single one of you! I have enough slips, and I will do it again!" The "good kids" started to head towards their classrooms. Lynn stayed behind a bit. She started to walk over to me when-"Hey, Lynn, come on!" someone called. It was Brianna of course. "Like, seriously, getting detention on your first day would NOT be good. Do you want to be late?" "I'm coming!" Lynn called, before looking at me. "You have no idea what's coming." She says in a low voice. "You thought you were safe..." "Lynn!" Brianna yelled again, impatient. "Come on!" Lynn turns away from me and begins to run towards the cool kids. "I'm so excited for class!" She says to Bella as they walk to class. As the final half of the students left in the hallways starts to shuffle into their assorted classrooms, Bee turns to me. "We should really go, you know." I nod and join the crowd of students heading towards another miserable day. Suddenly, someone shouts "Watch out!" Something crashes into my back hard, knocking the wind out of me. I hear Bee yell my name. I hit the ground hard and everything goes black.
