Sea-lionkit is young, and yet still there's no denying that she's been shaped by her past, no matter how short it may be. She's gone through life-changing grief, held unfaltering love in her heart, and felt her shoulders creak under responsibility that perhaps no cat her age should have ever experienced. But she did experience it, all of it, and for better or for worse, one can see it in the way she acts every day. Often times, it is easiest to see the part of her that grew up with a mother, and two lovely siblings. The part of her that loves her new clan dearly, almost as much as she loves the cat who took her in. It's always nice to see this side of her, as it's exclusively pleasant. Welcoming ( + ) and warm ( + ), Sea-lionkit is always open to meeting new cats with a smile on her face. She likes to make others feel at home when she can, as she's painfully aware of how strange a new environment-- or an environment that has changed beyond recognition-- can be. She's also generally friendly and comfortable to be around, and is aware when her presence makes others uncomfortable and is quick to adjust. She stays sensitive ( = ) to others and is quite so in her emotions as well, though most don't really get the chance to see it fully. She's fair ( + ) as well and has a pretty good moral compass, all things considered. She's never biased when she actually forces herself to think about things, and it makes her a pretty decent cat to come to about decisions. Of course, just like any cat, Sea-lionkit is not all sweet scents and considerate smiles. She has a turbulent side as well. Perhaps the specific traits could be blamed on how early on she was orphaned, or how she was still a child when her home was no longer her home anymore. Or, maybe even if none of that would have happened, she'd still be the way she is now. Regardless of how it came to be, Sea-lionkit is impulsive ( - ) when it comes to her own decisions and actions, rarely stopping and taking a moment to think before doing. Maybe it's because she's so emotional ( = ), as often times she finds feelings coming out of nowhere and flooding her. Most of the time it's not exactly the most pleasant thing, and is certainly confusing for her, having to detangle such strong emotions that never seem to end. Or possibly it's because she wants to avoid her own mind. Though it may never show to others, Sea-lionkit suffers from terrible insecurity ( - ). It leads to constant second guessing herself before and once decisions are made, and can even go as far as assuming the character of others without much to go off of other than fear. This leads to her being much more reticent ( = ) than most kits, and even a good majority of adults. She excels at hiding her emotions and thoughts when she wants to, and often takes advantage of it, tending to bottle up negative feelings and hiding them away. And that's not all she can keep hidden. Sea-lionkit is secretive ( = ) in her words as well and holds secrets close to her heart, never to be shared unless she deems it necessary. Even when she's given permission to share, she often doesn't. After all, why would she? Her disobedience ( - ) often comes as a surprise to others. This is one of the things she chooses not to hide, as well. She didn't start her kithood with strict rules, and she doesn't particularly want to follow them now. Many of them seem silly and frivolous to her, made out of pride or moments of hysteria, and the only rules she really supports are the ones keeping cats safe, and only keeping cats safe. But even though she's not ashamed of her rule breaking, she doesn't enjoy getting in trouble. And, of course, these two things result in quite a bit of dishonesty ( - ), and once one lie is told, many are more to follow. It shouldn't be much a surprise, really, given that many would consider hiding feelings to be dishonest. For the most part, lying doesn't bother her, as she's gotten comfortable with it over time, and most of the lies she tells are inconsequential anyways. Other lies she won't admit to herself are wrong. She's stubborn ( - ) that way, and in a lot of other ways too. She sticks fast to her decisions and opinions without faltering, and even holds grudges for longer than is probably healthy. Which leads to another trait that seems to fit wrong against her canvas-- she is undeniably vengeful ( - ). Once she's made an enemy, and will purposely go after them until she's satisfied.

Description

But the event that had the biggest impact on the little colorpoint molly was not her biological mother's death, nor, unfortunately, the love surrounding her then and now. No, it was that lonely, desperate week where Sea-lionkit, then Sailor, had sunk into some deep place within herself, for her own survival and for her siblings. And when she was found, by her Snakle and Sicariushug, and she was lifted from the fog, something new in her was born. Many things, in fact. Her selflessness ( + ) and her self-sacrifice ( - ), two sides of a coin minted by love and pain. On one hand, it's admirable, how she'll put aside her wants to help others, stop what she's doing to assist anyone who needs it. And on the other hand, it's terrifying to watch her do things that may very well get her hurt or worse, just to make it a little easier for someone else. It's like she doesn't even care about her wellbeing sometimes-- and though that isn't true, what is true is that her safety certainly isn't her priority. Most simply put, it's just that she'd rather be hurting than see someone else the same way. She's also mature ( = ), probably far too much for her young age. You won't see her dancing around or playing silly games often, and if you do it's likely she'll be doing it with a reserved, obliging smile. She's also pretty serious ( = ) in general and doesn't particularly appreciate sarcasm. Jokes she's more partial to, though you'll never see her cracking them herself. She much prefers to keep things straightforward and easily understood, if not honest. She's also much more responsible ( + ) than others close to her age, and though looking at her past it's not a surprise, it can still be a surprise to see a four moon old kit watching out for safety hazards or making sure to watch over the younger kits. It's not unusual to see her constantly helping out wherever she can, either, and she'll gladly lend the apprentices a hand in making nests or help her dad sort herbs, if he'd let her. She works hard ( + ) and likes to keep herself busy, making her helpful even when no one requires her to be. Not all of that behavior is out of her own wanting to do it, though, since a decent chunk of it is her looking for praise ( = ). She likes to know that she's doing a good job, and often enough her insecurity keeps herself from realizing it on her own, so she compensates by going out of her way to please others. Sea-lionkit is clingy ( - ) with those she's close to, physically when possible, and always emotionally. She gets easily distressed when she hasn't talked to her people for a while since she yearns to know that they're okay and always wants to keep up with their lives. And especially when in uncomfortable situations, she's always close in personal bubbles, pelts or paws touching near-constantly. On that note, she's protective ( = ) of those she loves. It can be a little... stifling, sometimes, how she'll jump to their defense whether they want it or not and seek out those who wronged them to give her a piece of her mind, but it's all with positive intent, and it can help some situations, even if the little molly isn't too intimidating. What she lacks in stature she makes up for in bravery ( + ) and determination ( + ) tenfold. She never shys away from situations from fear and doesn't give up until her body gives out on her. She's headstrong, sure, but that only makes her resolve to protect and love her family stronger-- and, at this point, after all she's lost, that's all she could ever want.
