"Uh, hi?" I say cautiously while all of us stare at her. She's also an eevee, and she has jewels on her tail and neck fluff*. "Hello, um- I'm Everly, the um, royal messenger of Pokelania*, s-servant of her majesty Em-empusa. Yes? heh..." The eevee is more telling herself that than us. "Okay... Why are you here? What is Pokelania? AND WHO THE HECK IS EMPUSA!?" This time it was Briar who spoke, well- more like shouted. I've never seen Briar this angry before, especially at someone like Everly, who is cowering in the doorway right now. "Um- Briar?" I say, "Could you stop shouting- er- talking so she can speak?" Briar narrowed her eyes at Everly, but she sat back down. "Uh- um- y-you do not know who her majesty is? She is feared across the land because of her excellent strategy and fighting skill of course, and she's very kind and graceful! Everly quickly says, "And Pokelania, it's her kingdom- the kingdom you're in right now!" She seemed very concerned that we didn't know who Empusa is and what Pokelania is. "You didn't answer my first question. Briar growled. Yup definitely never her this angry. "Oh! Yes! I was sent by her majesty herself to come get you for a quest!" Everly says excitedly, "You probably don't know this, because you didn't even know who her majesty Empusa is, but there has been a powerful force torturing the world! We've worked very hard to make peace with it, but dose still smite down towns and cities every once and a while. Okay- more like 3 a day but- better than before!" "Oh, we know about that thing is alright, it destroyed our whole village! If this is a quest to kill it, I'm going." Eclipse said. "Oh- um... I'm sure her majesty will be glad about the enthusiasm and all," Everly says cautiously, "but- she only said to bring one of you and-" "Okay! then bring me! Wait- is the reason why you don't want to bring me is because you think I'm not qualified enough?!" Eclipse interrupted. I could tell this was not going well, Briar still looks like she wants to rip Everly to pieces, Eclipse is getting insulted about something no one said, and Everly looks like she's about to collapse in fear. I was just about to intervene when Everly responded. "Oh! No! N-not at all! I think you're more than qualified but- her majesty told me to- um bring-" Everly look a quick look at a piece of paper I didn't notice before. "Um- bring an eevee named Amber." It took a moment for me to register what she just said, some random queen I had no idea existed until just now wants ME to go on some important quest that will save millions of Pokémon*. Oh- what did I do wrong? "Wait what? No way You said what I just heard- This random queen Opossum or something- wants Amber to go on this legendary quest, even though she's never been very far from this cave?" Eclipse asks. "Um- yeah- I think so..." "WHAT?! I'M THE OLDEST CHILD I DESERVE TO DO THIS- wait- how do you and your ruler know who we are and-" "Ummm you can have Amber ask that once we get there." Everly was in the corner now, trying to make herself as small as possible it seems. "Okay, I don't like this as much as you do, Eclipse, but Everly seems to be pretty determined to do this. So, we might as well not waste our time." Briar says. Everly relaxes. "So, I'm going?" I say.
