I woke up sweating. What had happened? Then I remembered- I had a nightmare. That was all. I let out a deep breath. In my nightmare, Lynn had come back...but different. Scary, almost. "I'm coming for you." She said, "You thought you defeated me, but you haven't." My memory was a little foggy. What had happened last night? Oh, right. Andrew had come over. "Ashy! Ashy! Ashy!" Emmy said, bounding in. "Good morning Ashy! What do you want to do today? You want to like, plaaaay, or like, dress up?" "No." I said, getting on my shirt. "I have to meet up with Bee today." I paused, thinking of how said she was last night. "Hey...Emmy? I was thinking...do you want to sit on the bus with me and Bee?" Emmy perked up. "I do, I do!" She said, "I'm a big kid now!" I laughed, and started to head downstairs. "Morning, Ash!" Bill called. "Morning Emmy!" "Morning daddeeeeee!" Emmy cheered. "I believe Bee is already outside for you, Ash." Mom told me. "Her and her older sister." "I get to go too!" Emmy told mom. "Good for you." Mom replied absentmindedly. I grabbed a piece of toast for me and a pop tart for Emmy. Okay, maybe another pop tart for me too. But then I ran out to meet Emmy, Bee, and her older sister outside. "Hi, Ash!!!" Bee called. "This is my sister." The older girl waved. "I'm not sure if you've met me yet or not, but I'm Cece, Bee's older sister." She said. Emmy laughed. "Bee and Cece?" She said, "Is your mom's name like Alphabet or something?" "Emmy!" I said quickly, but Cece just laughed. "Actually our full names are Beatrice and Cecelia, but mom thought it would be "cute" to give us matching nicknames." She said. "Ugh, Cece, stop! You promised not to tell anyone that!" Bee groaned. "Sorry, sis." Cece said, shrugging, "So like, are we going to go or what?" "I have a couple of question for you." I said as we got onto the bus. "Ask away." Cece answered. "How old are you?" I asked. "Seventeen." "Why haven't I seen you around?" "I've been in Peru." "Am I asking too many questions?" "Not at all! I'm fine with whatever questions, it makes sense." Oh shoot, did I say that last part aloud? "Don't worry about it." Cece told me. "Elementary school!" The bus driver called. "Hey, isn't that your sister's stop?" Cece asked. "You're right!" Bee said. Emmy sighed. "But I don't wanna go!" She protested. "Emmy." I scolded. "Aw, fine." She groaned, getting her sparkly backpack. "Bye Emmy!" Bee called. "See you later Ashy!" Emmy yelled to me as she got off the bus. "Your sister seems nice." Cece noted. "Yeah," I said, "but she's sooooo annoying!" Cece laughed. "Relatable." After a bit, the bus pulled up at the high school. Cece grabbed her bag and got up. "This is my stop." She said. I pouted. "Aw..." I said. Cece laughed. "Don't worry, we can hang out some other time, blue." She said. "Blue?" I said, confused. "You know, because your eyes and your shirt?" Cece said. "Last stop for the high school!" the bus driver called. "Got to go," Cece said, "Later Blue! Later bumblebee!" She called, getting off the bus. "Your sister is SO COOL." I told Bee. She sighed. "Yeah." She said, "I'll never be as cool as her." "Oh, Bee..." I said, "You'll always be cool enough for me." "But not cool enough for my parents. Or Payton, apparently." "Wait." I said, realizing something. "Do you-" "Hi, Ash." Someone said from behind me. I wheeled around, and guess what? Standing there was ANDREW! He gave an awkward little wave. "So listen, I was thinking about last night-" "LOOK, A FLYING ZEBRA WITH POLKA DOTS!" I yelled, interrupting Andrew. Both Bee and Andrew shot me a confused look. "Hey, chill, I just wanted to talk-" Andrew started, but I interrupted once again. "I mean...look! We're here!" And I was right. "Middle schoolers, this is your stop!" The bus driver called out. I picked up my backpack and ran out as fast as my puny legs could take me. Argh! Curse you, puny legs! But as soon as I burst through the doors, bigger problems awaited me. Now, you might be wondering, what bigger problems could there be besides embarrassment? Well, I'll tell you what: Crowds. Pretty much everyone in the school was standing out in the hallway, seemingly huddled around one thing. I wormed through the crowd. "Hey!" One kid said, "Watch it!" "'Scuse me, coming throuh!" I yelled. "Now, what's causing all the commotion?" "I love your dress!" A girl named Brittney yelled. But who was she talking to? Finally, I squirmed to the front row. There was a girl with bright blue eyes and brown hair tied up in a ponytail. She turned to me. "Hey, Ash." Lynn said.
