Falling. Falling Falling. He was falling, but he didn't know how far the ground was, because it was the same shade of black as the walls and sky. He couldn't tell the difference between any of them. For all he knew, he could be soaring up towards the sky. But then he landed, with a jarring /thud/ that echoed through his skull. He shook his head, trying to find out where he was. And then he turned around. Thousands upon thousands of eyes, all in the same haunting shade of red, were staring at him, right into his soul, judging, judging, /judging/-- He woke up, jolting upright, his heart pounding, threatening to burst out of his chest. He looked around wildly, realizing it was his room, and the others were there, safe. He sat up, facing the door. And then, it seemed as though something was phasing through the walls. Eyes. In that haunting shade of red. He was vaguely aware of someone calling his name, but it felt as though someone was talking to him from a long distance, or that he was underwater and someone above the surface was talking to him. He desperately wanted to talk back, telling whoever it was that he was fine, and that they shouldn't worry. But that would be a lie, and his body wasn't letting him tear his gaze away from those eyes, and words couldn't come out through the jaws that seemed to be clamping around his throat. He was now aware that someone was shaking him, and someone was screaming his name, but he couldn't look away from the eyes. The eyes stared into his own... ...the rest of the world went out of focus... ...the screaming continued... ...and then the eyes finally faded away, and his body in the real world collapsed, spinning his mind back into darkness... ___________________________________________ Some lore from my story!
