[ cont. of https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/827434267/ ] DON'T SPAM IT OR IT'LL GET OVERLY PIXELATED 1: lol sorry, i had to XD 2: Maple (just so people have an idea on how she looks) 3: Cliff (again, just so people know what she looks like) None of this art is part of the DTAE. I just wanted to include it. Over the course of a few weeks, Pokeweed and Cliff became fast friends. Often they would prank other cats in the area, hunt together, chase butterflies, or simply talk. It had seemed that Cliff was right, and Maple was warming up to Pokeweed. Occasionally, she would bring some prey to them. (Well, it was really for Cliff, but she didn't complain when they shared.) A few moons (months) later, when Pokeweed walked into the den carrying a mouse, confused embarrassment pricked at their paws when they saw Maple and Cliff looking at them expectantly. Pokeweed dropped their prey. "Wh– What's going on...?" they asked. "Oh," Maple said scathingly. "Just a little, ah, proposal..." Cliff looked like ants were crawling in her pelt. "Sh– shut up Maple! It's not like that! Besides, we're all going! I mean, if Pokeweed wants to. And you have no right to be making fun of our friendship!" Maple's eyes went wide with mock innocence. "Who, me?" "Ugggg... Whatever Maple. Pokeweed, wanna go to the city? Like a family trip?" "F– family trip?" Pokeweed repeated, after a moment of surprize, feeling a little anxious. "Am I a– a part of your family?" Cliff whacked them in the face with her tail. "Of course, you idiot!" she mewed affectionately. "What else would you be, a pet?" "Uggg, enough with the mushy stuff," Maple complained. "Do you want to go or not?" "Oh, yes, of course!" Pokeweed chose to ignore Maple's annoyed tone and act like they didn't notice. After all, it would probably be more annoying. "Alright, time to go!" It was the morning after the decision to go. Everyone had just eaten, groomed, and leaving was the next thing on their list. Pokeweed looked on toward the city. It looked so small from here, but they knew it was one of the biggest places in the world. "Is everyone ready?" Cliff asked. "Yup!" "I guess." "Alright, here we are!" Cliff announced. Pokeweed was confused. This wasn't the city. I was a river. "Um... Cliff, this isn't the city. It's just a river." "Oh, I know!" Cliff replied. "This is how we're getting there. Maple, care to explain?" "No." Maple said flatly. Cliff blinked. Maple swatted her with her tail. "I'm just messing with you! Pokeweed, we're going to ride the river." "What!?" "I said, we're riding the river." "No– I mean– I was– I was just surprised, that's all," Pokeweed stuttered in embarrassment. "Um– what are we riding on?" "That human boat over there," Cliff said, signalling with her tail. Pokeweed hadn't noticed the boat before. It was old, shabby, and made of wood. It looked like it hadn't been used in a long time. "Alright everyone, GET IN!!!" Cliff yelled enthusiastically. Maple rolled her eyes. "The yelling isn't necessary Cliff." As they climbed into the boat, Pokeweed thought about humans. They remembered some of the things their father had told them about the strange two legged creatures. Mainly they remembered how they were quite destructive, usually by accident. They hoped they wouldn't be noticed by the humans too often. Suddenly the boat lurched and Maple pushed it away from the shore. Cliff stumbled a little, and Pokeweed fell flat on their face. "You okay Pokey?" Cliff asked as she pulled him up. Pokeweed nodded. "Pokey? Seriously?" Maple commented with a snort. "I guess Pokeweed /is/ quite pokeable." She narrowed her eyes. Pokeweed glared at her. "Anyways," Maple continued, "I was only getting us off shore. It's your fault you fell over." Speaking of getting offshore, the boat had been growing faster and faster as they progressed. "Can y'all help me slow the boat down?" Cliff asked. "We want to be able to steer." "Okay!" Pokeweed replied. "What do you need me to do?" "See those long sticks with flat ends? To slow down, we've gotta put them in the water in the same spot, at the same time." Maple rolled her eyes. "You're such a pushover Pokeweed. You too Cliff." "Quick, turn, turn!" Cliff yelped. They were approaching a split in the river, one side going further into the woods, and the other shifting into a canal, which led to the city. "I'm turning, I'm turning!" Pokeweed called back frantically. They spotted a medium large stone under the surface of the water. They pushed their stick against it, and the boat swerved sharply into the canal. "Phew! Thanks Pokeweed." Cliff panted. "Okay, we should get to the city in a few minutes. We're really close now." Black, white, yellow, blue, pink, green. Countless colors overwhelmed Pokeweed's eyes, all much more bright and vibrant than the soft yellows and browns they were used to. They had reached the city at nightfall, but the city's flashing lights and bright colors still glowed.

Description

"Psst!" Pokeweed jolted awake. For a moment, they sat there, confused. Then they remembered. The family trip! The journey had been so exciting, and even more so when they reached the city. The three travelers eventually had to go to sleep. Pokeweed and Cliff curled up hidden in a stack of tires, but Maple had chosen a discarded dog house instead. "Psst! Up here!" a voice whispered from atop the stack of tires. Pokeweed looked up. The voice's owner was impossible to identify in the dark, but Pokeweed could make out the shadowy form of a cat. One that seemed familiar, somehow. Pokeweed rose to their paws, and, careful not to wake Cliff, they climbed to the top of the tire stack. Once they got there, they asked, "Who are you?" The cat didn't answer. They hopped down from the stack of tires and bounded away, something giving off a flash of light on their tail. "Wait!" Pokeweed called. They leaped off the tires and ran after the mysterious cat. Pokeweed chased them all around the city. This cat seemed to be running aimlessly, making Pokeweed tired. "Slow down!" cried Pokeweed. Suddenly the cat stopped. Pokeweed took a moment to catch their breath, and looked at their surroundings. They were standing on a sidewalk bordering one of the more quiet, out of the way alleys. There was an assortment of trash cluttering the small corner, like old human food, feathers, and some metal barrels. Pokeweed repeated their question. "Who are you?" Still, the cat didn't answer. All Pokeweed could see was a sly grin, which almost seemed to glow in the minuscule amount of light there was. Green light, in fact. Pokeweed's gaze shifted around and almost immediately found its source. The metal barrels. A look of panic seemed to have appeared on the strange cat, but it was hard to tell in the dark. Suddenly they knocked the barrels over. An eerie green liquid was thrown out, the same stuff that had been making the light. Pokeweed's eyes widened. They leapt to their paws, frantically scrabbling at the ground, but slipped on a discarded human napkin. Splash. The glowing substance covered them from head to toe. //Wait a second.// Pokeweed thought. //This doesn't hurt.// Unfortunately, right after the thought, Pokeweed felt claws ripping into their left hind leg. They screeched in pain as the weird goo from the barrels seeped into them. Pokeweed's head was spinning, and sparks of light danced in front of their eyes. The last thing they saw before everything went dark, was a flash of gold in a ring around the strange cat's tail. Maple! "Pokeweed! Pokeweed, are you alright!?" a voice called. Pokeweed rolled over. Why couldn't they sleep some more? "Pokeweed!" the call came again. Pokeweed opened their eyes. As they stood up, pain shot through their leg, and they collapsed. //Where am I?// "You're back home." Pokeweed's eyes focused. "Cliff!" they exclaimed, leaping to their paws, immediately falling over. "Maple– she–" "I know," Cliff said, with a pained look on her face. "I sent her away. She's gone." The next few weeks of Pokeweed's recovery were a blur. They spent most of their time letting Cliff care for them, or recounting her story of what had happened. By sheer luck, Cliff had found Pokeweed unconscious hidden in the bushes. When she told Maple that she found them, Maple mentioned the acid scars Pokeweed probably had, without any knowledge from Cliff on what happened. Cliff immediately noticed Maple's slip up, and forced her to leave. During Cliff's explanation of what happened, she constantly asked why Maple would have done such a thing, but Pokeweed knew she was just circling away from the obvious. Maple had been jealous. Pokeweed and Cliff's friendship had made her feel neglected, and she chose to deal with it poorly. "Well?" Pokeweed asked. "Did you find out?" "I asked all the cats I know. Maple's living with some humans now," Cliff replied. A look of regret filled her eyes. Pokeweed had seen this expression far too often, and was desperate for some way to comfort Cliff. "Hey," they said softly. "I'm sure Maple will be fine. She's got a new life now, where she can start over." Then Pokeweed said what had been on the tip of their tongue for so long. "Maybe... Maybe we should too. Ever since I showed up here, things have gone haywire for you. Maybe I should leave." Cliff thought for a moment. "Yes. We should start again. But not start over. I want you in my life forever now, as long as you do." Pokeweed nodded. "Let's do it." Base by: @SkechIndeed Cursed scratchcat/pokeweed: @29yuc (me) Design: @-LeviathensTalons-
