Description

explanations: 1) self-explanatory 2) "(Union) Dixie" is a parody of "I Wish I Was in Dixie Land" and disses the CSA 3) So there was a Union general named Jefferson Columbus Davis and he might have or have not pulled a pistol on fellow Union general William "Bull" Nelson after the latter called the former a coward 4) Jack Hinson is known as one of the best snipers of the Civil War. He began fighting for the Confederacy after the murder of his sons by a Union officer 5) "Where were you scouting at, general? The moon?!" 6) Thus began Pickett's Charge 7) So it actually wasn't Pickett's Charge, it's most correctly known as the Pickett-Pettigrew-Trimble Charge, as each (including Pickett) led 1/3 of it 8) Lincoln's cabinet wanted Lincoln to fire Grant, but Lincoln refused: "I can't spare this man. He fights." Let's sure be glad he didn't. 9)I hope you know the story of Mary Surratt 10) In late 1864 or early 1865, Robert Lincoln's (Abraham Lincoln's son) life was saved by Edwin Booth, John Wilkes Booth's older brother 11) "Marching Through Georgia", a song written by Henry Clay Work to honor Sherman's exploits during the Savannah Campaign, was played for Sherman at every public appearance he made. He came to hate it, not only because of hearing it so many times, but he also disliked that it glorified war.
