All of the world's superpowers are facing internal conflict... ==================== Things that happened in this timeline: >>> GENERAL: - A new, large military alliance exists in the form of the Global Defense Organization, or GDO, which is the successor to NATO. - The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) collapsed in 2030. - The United Nations ran an international nuclear disarmament program in 2031 to prevent the possibility of the destruction of mankind should WW3 occur. >>> AMERICAS: - The USA went full manifest destiny mode and invaded Mexico (again) in 2052, which collapsed and fell into civil war even before the invasion. - In the southern and western states of the United States, unrest is beginning to rise due to the aforementioned invasion/war with of Mexico. - Yucatan is independent. - Quebec, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia gained independence from Canada in 2040, and have good relations with it. - After some internal squabbling, Central America united into a single confederation in 2039. - Venezuela exploded into a civil war which escalated into the most complicated one in history. - Chile ceded some land to Bolivia. >>> EUROPE: - Northern Ireland became a part of Ireland in 2035, and the island currently remains fully united. - Germany restored its monarchy in 2033, and then annexed Austria a year later. - Czechoslovakia reunified in 2050. - Serbia is fighting a war with the entirety of the GDO, which started in 2047, and is losing due to internal instability. - Albania annexed Kosovo in 2025, which almost led to a war with Serbia. - Moldova and Romania unified (or technically reunified) in 2032 after the issue of Transnistria was solved. - Ukraine was able to win its war with the Russian Federation in 2045, and retook Crimea. - After a violent revolution in 2056, Belarus (or Ruthenia) is now democratic. - To protect themselves from the Russians, the Baltic states unified and became the Baltic Confederation in 2036. >> RUSSIA: - A decade after the humiliating 2045 defeat in Ukraine, Russia collapsed and fell into total civil war, thus starting the Second Russian Civil War. - Kaliningrad declared independence before the Russian Federation collapsed, joined the GDO, and currently maintains good relations with Germany. - Tuva became independent at the same time as Kaliningrad, and has become the Switzerland of Asia. - Finland managed to annex all of Karelia. - The remnants of the Russian Federation have become the Russian State (or RS), and are trying to reunify Russia, but with no success. - The RS is primarily fighting against the Free Russia Movement and the Tsardom of the Far East, both of which are backed by the GDO. - Russia's Caucasus and some Siberian territories all declared independence, and are backed by the GDO. >>> CAUCASUS & MIDDLE EAST: - Abkhazia is independent, but has maintained mostly good relations with Georgia. - After a brief war in 2029, Azerbaijan ceded Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia. - The Middle East, generally, is in absolute chaos, with an independent Kurdistan fighting a defensive war against all of its neighbors, Turkey fighting an offensive war against Syria, and Iraq attempting to invade everyone it borders (barring Jordan and Kuwait). - In 2045, South Yemen (backed by the GDO) tried to declare independence from Yemen, which led to the ongoing second Yemeni Civil War, in which Saudi Arabia also launched a full-scale invasion of Yemen. - Israel won the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in 2049, but is highly unstable due to civil unrest in former Palestine. ====================
==================== Continuation of things that happened in this timeline: >>> CONTINENTAL ASIA: - Karakalpakstan is fighting a war for independence from Uzbekistan which started in 2054. - The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan collapsed in 2044, resulting in the old Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (backed by the GDO) trying to regain power and South Turkestan declaring independence. - After the threat of GDO intervention, Kashmir was given independence in 2041, but Pakistan is attempting to reclaim it. - India and Pakistan went to war in 2048, but this war did not escalate into a nuclear war due to the UN's international nuclear disarmament program. - Burma literally just fell apart after a series of mind-boggling decisions by the government, and the new nations that emerged were and are still backed by the GDO. - Tibet and Xinjiang (Uyghurstan/East Turkestan) declared independence from China in 2044 because of political instability within the latter. - Korea is fully united under the leadership of former South Korea. >>> SOUTHEAST ASIA: - Thailand went to war with the old Burmese government after Burma collapsed, and they (Thailand) are supported by Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. - Vietnam is dealing with an insurgent movement in the south, with the GDO backing the former, and China backing the latter. - Indonesia is dealing with insurgent movements in West Papua and Sumatra. - After a tense diplomatic arguing, the Philippines obtained Sahab from Malaysia in 2035, although at the cost of both of them breaking off relations. >>> AFRICA: - Libya collapsed into two in 2051, with Cyrenaica declaring independence with the backing of the GDO. - Morocco is dealing with insurgent movements in Rif, and is also trying to reintegrate the Sahrawi. - Senegal and The Gambia reunited and formed the Senegambian Confederation in 2040. - Mali and Burkina Faso joined together to form the most dangerous country in the entire continent to visit. - Azawad. - After a streak of good presidents and assistance from the United States, Niger has become the most successful African country, even surpassing Botswana. - Biafra is attempting to secede from Nigeria again. - Ambazonia is fighting a war of independence from Cameroon. - The Central African Republic is fighting to reincorporate the Republic of Logone, which declared independence from the CAR in 2039. - The Democratic Republic of the Congo fell apart in 2044, with the remnants of the DRC gov't being backed by the GDO. - Barotseland became a nation as a result of political instability in Namibia and Zambia. - Zimbabwe collapsed into two at the same time as Libya did. - South Africa is at war with the Cape Republic, which declared independence in 2030. - Eswatini is being invaded by South Africa. - In 2046, a treaty signed in the city of Juba led to Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan merging into the East African Federation and joining the GDO. - Darfur declared independence from Sudan in 2048, which started a war and led to combined EAF and GDO intervention. - Ethiopia is dealing with Russian-backed insurgent movements in Tigray and Ogaden. - Somaliland was able to fully escape the chaos in Somalia, and became a fairly developed nation. - Eritrea is dealing with insurgent movements in the Afar region. ==================== >>> CREDITS: • Map made by me • Music is a Chechen war song ==================== (Also, I might be turning this into an RP) ====================
