Instructions

Note: I cannot stress enough that JeffyJeff DOES NOT own the art. Bios are traces of existing art and he does not claim ownership over the original art. This project is regarding an important announcement for SSBG! JeffyJeff_Production is a dev who has been a massive help on this project. I likely couldn't have made SSBG without his support. He's worked on nearly 100 biography vectors, which are like trophies. They have worded descriptions as seen here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/825542940/ Since all have been made, SSBG's development on the menu demo will re-enter development very soon. The Menu Demo is everything but the engine, so think of it like if you could access everything in a Smash Bros. game asides from the gameplay itself. It includes biographies, which are this game's stand in for trophies, a music room to listen to music, various extras modes like news board, credits, etc. and a museum mode, which archives snapshots of SSBG's development- as well as some fan art and high quality versions of portraits. It'll hopefully be done long before november. I may upload screenshots, but there won't be another major update until November 16th (Or 11th?) which is the 2 Year Development anneversiary. When the menu demo is done, that means only one thing is left: Actually making the gameplay (Lol). But due to me wanting to release the project complete and Scratch working better with making the menu first, THEN building around that, it was always destined to be the last thing to be finished. I may open it for playtesting before the end of the year, but likely only to fellow devs. I aim for the engine to be done before February ends next year. I can't comment on character dev, but I can say I'm going to go all out when I 'perfect' the plan and finish the Menu Demo so I only have one sole segment of a project to work on. Hope you guys are hyped up. Timeline: Menu Demo - Starts this weekend. Pretty much everything but gameplay and some of the portraits / stock icons get implemented. Menu Demo Complete - Before November, possibly done October. Engine starts dev if I have the time. 2-Year Development Anniversary - May upload the engine on an alt for playtesting just for the developers. Maybe the portraits are all done. I can't say for sure, it may be a boring anniversary. Engine is complete - Before February 2023. Could be earlier. Character dev will start and it won't be hard tbh. I am confident with the engine, there's just a couple of road blocks I need to perfect planning for like Online to make for no CPU, smooth launching and some other important stuff. When I make enough characters, I'll announce a date. The roster may be just the original 12 with some extras, or it could be a little under 30 fighters. depends on development time. Release - When I finish everything, I'll just copy it over into the actual game. I don't think I'll make it a shadow drop, but who knows. I might try and get a YT channel set up. But yeah that's the plan. ... what you thought i was gonna cancel it no lmao we're nearly done buckle your seatbelts lol. also Sekiyo and BrickPlex, if you're reading this I'm gonna have to talk to you two about placing in a possible deadline to get content done prior to the engine being made.

Description

Original Bios project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/823115583/ The following list includes all biographies in SSBG. Confirmed means the character will get in. Likely means depending on dev time, they have a high chance of getting, with unlikely meaning a low chance. I'd be here all day if I labelled who was and wasn't considered for playability, and not all considerations have bios - like Gengar. But really, if they don't have a bio, then they're definitely not getting in for reasons I've babbled about a million times before. It's unlikely any more bios get made, so this is it. The 'trophies' for SSBG are: 1. Master Hand 2. Mario (Confirmed) 3. Luigi (Confirmed) 4. Bowser (Confirmed) 5. Wario 6. Waluigi (Unlikely) 7. Peach 8. Yoshi (Confirmed) 9. Dr. Mario (Likely) 10. Gooigi (Likely) 11. Paper Mario 12. Count Bleck 13. Donkey Kong (Confirmed) (Rambi in moveset) 14. Diddy & Dixie 15. King K. Rool 16. Pikachu (Confirmed) 17. Jigglypuff (Confirmed) 18. Superman With Luffy (Unlikely, may be the last series included) and Crash possibly getting bios. If one of you wants, you could source where all the portraits come from e.g. Rayman comes from his Mario + Rabbids 2 DLC render. Credit goes to the original owners of these series, as well as JeffyJeff for working on the bio art and Sekiyo working on the character portrait seen at the end. More info regarding SSBG like the music or stage list here: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/30632618/ The song is Opening Melee / Theme of SSBB (AJ Dispirito), who has gave me permission to use his music. I originally considered Honeylune Ridge, HERO: Song of Hope and Through a 70cm Square Window since this was going to be the opening, but tbh idk now lol. Opening Melee / Theme of SSBB (AJ Dispirito) plays in game on any Smash Bros. series stage.
