Have you ever had something you loved so much you loved it with all your heart but anytime that thing was mentioned by someone who wasn't you it was negative and hurtful? Have you ever been too afraid to talk about what you love for fear of being left alone and abandoned by who you love? Have you ever been afraid of being locked away and forced to stop loving? Have you ever loved something so much but feared because you loved that thing you were afraid to go outside for fear of being shot by a rifle? Have you ever nearly suffocated hiding under your sheets in fear that someone wanted to take your life tonight because you loved that thing? Has it ever hurt to love? Have you ever held tightly to a thorny rose that cut your hands and made them bleed but you loved that rose and knew if you let go, your life would fade away? Has someone ever tried to rip that rose from your hands? Did you hide that rose close to your chest so it wouldn't happen again? Does it make you cry sometimes? Why does it hurt to love?
