The first experiments went almost exactly as planed... 100 (imperfect) copies of the skeleton's owner were produced, and 99 functioned as intended. The last one, however, gained sentience... It led 4 of the normal, subservient clones away from the V.I.L lab, but not before sabotaging the formula used for the following experiments, leading to much more sentience in the clones. It held within it a vial of the strange formula, and a drive encoded with many of the V.I.L's secret files. The second batch of clones were much stronger than intended, and were more free-willed. Out of 50 of these "Elite Clones," around 46 tried to escape, of which 14 were successful.
