1. Mia (10, grade 5, she/her). Cishet, knows what LGBTQ+ is but very homophobic. Dyes hair black because her mother suggested it. 2. Mia (11, grade 6, she/her). Starts at a new school, pierces her ears, and gets glasses. Her friend Annie comes out as trans and changes his name legally to Andrew. She distances herself from them. 3. Mia (12, grade 7, she/her). Has regrets about Andrew. Notices herself getting uncomfortable when others start talking about crushes. Her best friend Victoria comes out as lesbian. Spends many sleepless nights looking up things on the LGBTQ+ wikipedia but denies being queer. Discovers asexuality and aromanticity. 4. Mia (late grade 7, she/they). Mia's family moves to another town, where she meets a trans girl named Amy. Starts thinking she might be falling for Amy, but represses her attraction due to identifying as aroace. Starts feeling dysphoric about her body. Experiments with pronouns. Gets new earrings and cuts her hair. Her parents disapprove. 5. Mia (13, grade 8, she/they). Comes out at school as aroace. Joins the GSA. Amy accidentally outs her to her parents, who believe it's just a phase. Starts thinking she might be a trans boy. 6. Miley (late grade 8, he/they). Comes out fully as a trans boy. His parents kick them out and they have to live with Amy and her dads. Starts noticing signs of depression and feels very dysphoric. Realizes he doesn't really feel like a boy. 7. Miley (14, grade 9, they/them). Tells Amy they don't feel like a boy, and she helps them discover that they're non-binary. They meet a girl named Victoria who they used to know at their old school and realizes they have a crush on her. Discovers bisexuality and also ✨style✨. Dyes their hair blue. 8. Miley (late grade 9, they/them). Starts identifying as biromantic and asexual. Gets new glasses and new piercings. Confesses their crush to Victoria, and they start dating. Amy is very proud of her OTP. 9. Adult Miley later in their life idk when exactly but adult it/them. Married to its loving trans wife Charlotte, owns three cats and is a librarian so basically they have a great life. Happy ending :DD
