She blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes. It seemed blurry and the words were harder to read. She bit her lip and rubbed her eyes again. Her light brown hair bobbed up and down. She shook her head. She rubbed her eyes a few more times, making her bracelets click together. She squinted but then remembered that she just got new glasses. Lily slipped them on and continued reading. She was sitting in the shadows of the school, trying not to draw any attention to herself. A crowd of girls was crowded around two people. Lily knew who they were. It was Blaze, the supposedly "alpha" of the school, and her best friend, Dana. Lily rolled her eyes. She disliked popular girls, but then again, she never met them before. The only other girl that was also in the shade was Cae. She never knew Cae or anyone that wasn't in her family, very well. She didn't want to. Lily returned her attention to the book again, ignoring the other girls. Girls her age were always talking about stuff like, "crushes" or "puberty" Lily knew what puberty was. But it was a rough thing to explain. She knew that people were also talking about "crushes" That was a topic Lily hated most. Everyone always asked her, "who do you like?" and she would either respond with "nobody." or she would ignore them. She didn't know why she was like this. She didn't like to talk and she didn't like romance. Many girls always rumored that she was "mentally deranged" Lily called it sensible and quiet. That was her favorite trait in a person. But as luck had it, she was the only girl in the school that was like that and was now known as "mentally deranged" She sighed, realizing her mind wandered off again. She waited patiently for the bus to come, still reading. When the bus came, everyone stopped and looked at her, but instantly, they all went back to fighting for a seat near Blaze. Dana was sitting next to Blaze of course. They were attached to the hip. Lily headed straight to the back, where a brown-haired boy was sitting. She knew him too. Girls always liked him. That, was Forest, a 16-year-old popular kid in the school. And as luck had it again, he was in the back. But he and her didn't go to the same school. Lily went to this huge school with only 100 students. She didn't go to the same school as Blaze and Dana either. She sat down in the corner of the back, where there were shadows that she could practically disappear into. She pulled out her book again and began reading it. The bus suddenly lurched forward and she looked up. Lily got off the bus calmly and walked for about ten minutes before she arrived at her school. She headed in, clutching her books tight.
