It is no longer possible to purchase or download any new games, only already-owned games can be redownloaded. We gather here today, at the Cemetery Of Discontinued Virtual Experiences, to commemorate the loss of a major, iconic part of Nintendo's WiiU/3DS era. The Switch eShop must now continue their striking legacy alone... Thank you so much a-for-to selling your games. === HOW 2 REMIX === After commenting "Remixing..." and pressing the 'Remix' button, add your characters mourning the loss of the Wii U and 3DS eShops, and share it once you've added them all. They could leave flowers or other memoirs on the grave dirt, in which case you can also add those objects to the grave on the thumbnail. Feel free to do whatever you want, as long as you follow the rules below. Before you share the project, change the number next to the title by +1, as it represents the remix number. === RULES === Only @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop, @ZYellow, @Kyle3912Again, @SCRACO65, @Eliminated, @BobbyTheCatTheFirst, @SlyCotton-Apriwolf and @meow10010 are allowed to break these. Rules marked with ⚠️ can only be broken by @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop, nobody else! Rules marked with ☢️ can NOT be broken by anyone. Rules marked with ❓ are optional - breaking them is allowed (unless it's too severely), but following them is recommended. ⚠️ 1. Remember REMIX ETIQUETTE: Notify people in the comments before starting a remix so people know not to accidentally split the remix tree's branches. If you don't intend to make a new remix branch, don't remix if someone's already commented that they're remixing. ☢️ 2. Even if the deceased is a software instead of a person, this is still a funeral, so PLEASE be respectful - don't stand on the grave dirt, celebrate the demise, vandalise the grave, or otherwise treat this as a joke. If one of your characters does, you MUST have a second character stop them - they shouldn't get away with it. ☢️ 3. DO NOT BREAK THE SCRATCH COMMUNITY GUIDELINES, so nothing too scary, gory, vulgar, or otherwise innapropriate! ⚠️ 4. Don't add or remove anyone from the breaking-rules list without Burgnew's permission. ⚠️ 5. Don't delete any of these rules or instructions or completely change the project's title. 6. Don't delete or destructively modify anything you didn't make, unless to fix glitches, errors, or rule-breaks, or to remove unused scripts. ❓ 7. Please don't make your characters overly large; that'd waste space that could be used for more characters. It's recommended you keep larger characters nearer to the top so they block less ground. 8. You can add more music tracks, as long as they suit the mood of the project (sombre & nostalgic) but don't delete any unless they break the SCG or are too cheerful for this project's mood. Please note that this project doesn't have a music-loop system or audio-exemption lists yet. 9. Don't delete any characters or objects off the thumbnail (unless they break the rules) or completely change it altogether. ❓ 10. Anyone on the breaking-rules list can add new rules if needed. Remember to add them to both the thumbnail's RULE RECAP comment and the Instructions. Make sure you double-check these rules in the thumbnail just before you share the project. Don't let your remix be UNOFFICIALIZED by broken rules, or else it'll likely be abandoned.
Sorry if this project feels a bit rushed here and there, it was still being developed on the day I shared it. Alright, I know I don't usually make AY-funerals, but y'see, I originally intended to make a different AY with the same topic earlier on which counted down live to the day of the shop's closures. Due to being preoccupied with a different, more major project (which was originally intended to release TOMORROW), I had no time, until now when I decided to take a break from said project. By then, the countdown wouldn't have lasted very long, thus I decided to do this instead. I made my last few purchases on both shops yesterday and the day before, to get 2 more ST.Pass games for my 3DS and Dr. Luigi for my Wii U. I hope you have made your final purchases too, 'cos now you won't be able to. At least you can still link any unused funds to your Switch and use them on there. (at least until March 2024) This project started development on the 25th March 2023 and was finished & shared on the 27th. === CREDIT TO ALL, INCLUDING... === - Nintendo for being the original creator of the Wii U, 3DS, and their respective eShops... which they have now shut down. - Nintendo again for also creating the Wii Shop Channel and Miiverse, which "cameo" in this project. - @ringtop02, Microsoft, a dead meme, and one of my old projects from 2016 for inspiring other more distant easter eggs... - Nintendo yet again (specifically Kazumi Totaka), for being the original composers of the background music. - The original creators of any other music or SFX featured. - All Nintendo fans across the globe with fond memories of the iconic games they bought from these two eShops - it truly is the end of an era for them...
