Click the stage or press space!! Ramadan Mubarak to everyone! Questions: Why is Ramadan so special? Ramadan is considered a holy month in the Islamic calendar which follow the phases of the moon, it was in this month that Angel Jibril or Gabriel revealed the Qur'an to the Prophet Muhammed ﷺ (saw) near the end of Ramadan, in the third ashra on a night known as Laylatul-Quadr. Laylatul-Qadr is the best night in the whole year and Allah refers to this night as The Night of Destiny. Muslims commemorate this event by fasting to experience what it is like to be the people who are not able to eat or drink, fasting also improves our patience. Prophet Muhammed ﷺ said: "Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven" The Prophet said that in Ramadan, the gates of the Hellfire are closed while all the devils are chained and the gates of paradise are open. What is an Ashra? Ramadan is divided into three parts, called Ashra's. The first 1-10 days in the first Ashra, which is the Asgra of mercy, the next 10-20 days is the second Ashra, which is the Ashra of forgivness and the last 20-29/30 days make up the third Ashra which is for protection from the hellfire.
