"Training time!" Lightning heard her owner yell. She ran. She wasn't gonna do that again. She smelled a beautiful scent, like a flowery meadow. A bird perched on a large shoot of grass. She sniffed the bird and it flew. She backed up. It came back. She did too. It didn't move this time. She snatched the bird and ate. It was the best thing she'd ever tried. She saw her owners. They snatched her. "OH MY HEAVENS SHE KILLED A BIRD WHAT THE--?" Lightning scratched angrily at her owner. She was sick of hearing the word her 'mother' was certainly about to say. "YOU DEMON CAT!" She snatched Lightning and shoved her gloved hand over the molly's face. She scrambled blindly. Her owner slapped her and she sunk down. She was led into the house again, whimpering. "THIS LITTLE BRAT KILLED A BIRD!" The human complained to her husband. "WHAT!?" The male was worse. "C'mon, kitty. The show can wait. We'll get a substitute. You and I need to go on a little 'trip'." He snarled, snatching Lightning and carrying her into the car. He drove her past the meadow and into a forest. He threw her out the door and closed it, driving off. She was crying now, falling into the dirt. I few minutes later, a grey-brown she-cat slunk out from the undergrowth, and snarled when she saw Lightning. “Who are you?” She hissed. Another big cat, with the same dirty, matted fur and spiked colour came. He was dark pink with dark red splotches. The new cat lowered his head and hissed “You’re on BloodClan territory!” "I'm Lightning." Her tail angrily lashed, fur poofing out. "And you?" She calmed now, flattening the formerly spiky hairs on her back and meeting the she-cat's gaze. “Oh, and also, I didn't just 'bring myself' here. If I had a choice, I'd be rolling around in a meadow and hunting blue jays. But no. And be aware if you attempt to kill me, /my/ funeral won't be happening. No promises for yours." She wiped the tears from her eyes by washing herself, pretending they were never there in the first place. The she-cat growled “I don’t have a name. And this is Blood.” She flicked her tail in the direction of the tom, and turned her head towards him. “We’re not BloodClan cats anymore,” she growled to Blood “so it doesn’t matter that she’s here. Anyway, we’re making our own Clan. Wanna join us? We’re calling it WildClan, so, uh, I guess my name is Wildstar.” "And what would I do?" “Well, first you’d have to be an apprentice. Do you want to be a warrior apprentice or a medicine apprentice?” Wildstar said. “And it’s GOOD if you catch birds” she stifled a laugh. “Oh, and also, I’m not so sure about MY funeral happening instead of yours,” Wildstar said, drawing herself up to her full, and massive, hight, fluffing out her fur and unsheathing her claws. “Since this is gonna be my territory, and I don’t take kindly to strangers-” she stepped closer to Lightning, putting her paw and Lightning’s chin “- either join, or-” she swiped her paw out, scratching Lightning’s chin “- you die. AND there are two wild, trained cats that are much bigger than you-” Wildstar looked down at Lightning, an evil smile on her face “- and one small kittypet, so the odds are not in your favour.” "I'm probably not gonna do something if you're death-threatening me into it. You should know that." She smiled a little. "But for this offer... I'll consider. No promises." She swiftly turned and scampered into the bushes. "I'll be back!" She shouted behind her back, then disappearing into the vast woods, searching for the neat meadow she loved. Wildstar ran after her, paws pounding on the ground, her bounds much larger than Lightning’s. Eventually, she overtook Lightning and blocked her path “Looking for the meadow?” Lightning growled. She slashed at Wildstar's face, aiming to slice her eye. Wildstar tried to dodge, but Lightning managed to slash the corner of her yellow eye. Wildstar growled, picking up Lightning with a firm grip. “Now, should I throw her…?” Wildstar thought. “Yes” she threw Lightning, who landed on the ground with a soft ‘thud’. Wildstar ran over and picked Lightning up by the scruff again. “You’re going to be our prisoner until you decide. But first we need to find camp,” Wildstar said, then turned to Blood. “You will be my deputy. Your name will be Bloodlight!” They walked deeper into the woods, the undergrowth getting thicker. Wildstar would sometimes stumble, from the wait of a 27 moon old cat, and, she realised, the amount of blood dripping from the scratch Lightning had given probably meant it would become a scar. “Odd, that I’ve lived such a harsh life, but this is my first scar,” she thought.
Lightning felt this cats firm grip as stronger than her owner's. She never had thought of them as 'gentle' before, but now it seemed true. The fall hadn't hurt her much. Her fluff cushioned some of it, and she had been used to being thrown. There was a sudden rustle in the bushes, and Bloodlight shot towards it, coming back with a fox tooth resting on the spikes of his collar. He jammed it into Lightning’s collar “That’ll be there until you have made a decision, and you’ll keep it if you say yes,” he said to Lightning. Wildstar saw a tunnel going into a thicket of brambles with a smaller tunnel in the brambles. There were two tall rocks next to each other, and she dropped Lightning in between them, and Bloodlight blocked the only exit as Wildstar looks around the tunnel. She goes into the bramble tunnel, which opens out into a cave with a crack in the roof, with light filtering through there was a big den filled with soft moss, and a big one with grass, and others that could be other dens, and one with an over hanging rock. She was a bit surprised at the gift and realized then just how complex these cats were. First they ask her to join them. Then they death threat her and take her prisoner. Now they're giving her a gift? No. This wasn't really a gift. It wasn't a bribe neither. It was a token. One she had to win. And she was determined to win it. She wouldn't ask to join. She'd prove her worthiness until they accepted her. 'Thank you' didn't seem right to say. nor did 'how the heck did you kill a fox?'. She sat in the tunnel. She wouldn't say anything. She wouldn't compliment them. She would let them do what they did until she found a way to prove herself. Wildstar padded out of the tunnel and picked up Lightning. She padded into their new camp, and she saw a silver cat with grey paws and tail sunning herself on the new High-Rock. Wildstar grunted and put Lightning in a den and pushed a rock over the exit, with only a small crack visible. "This is where you'll stay 'till you have decided. You can ask for food or water or treatments any time," she said, then padded away to talk to the silver cat, and maybe she would get a new Clanmate...
