Press Space to see next photo So, @Mistyclarity found this kitten in their backyard. She wouldn't stop meowing and was very scrawny - just skin, fur, and bones. They decided to get some food and water for her. She mostly hid in my shed until finally coming out to get a drink. She's not weaned completely yet, but she has a few teeth growing in and she can eat soft meat. There were no other kittens or a mother cat anywhere. They have been in their yard all day and have sighted no other cats. She seems to trust them a lot, and will come to them if they call her. There is a slight issue - she is missing her bottom lip. She can eat, so it's probably fine. It's infected for sure though (she most likely has worms too), and needs to be washed off after she eats. She definitely wasn't born with it, as she has plenty of scars all over her body as well. Their guessing she's been attacked by a tom-cat or possibly her mother (maybe even a dog, as there’s a lot of stray dogs in our neighborhood). And also, not to mention her stomach is shrunken from being starved so she can’t eat much at one time meaning she eats around 6-8 times a day. By the way, she's a Tortie. In some photos, she may just look like a black cat, but she has some tawny patches near her cheeks and forehead. After almost 2 years, Poppy is all grown up and healthy! To everyone's surprise, he turned out to be a boy. Despite being the size of a runt, he's pretty big and stocky. Poppy has had kittens with another one of their rescue cats, Pippin. He loves to fight other cats in the forest (he's a warrior cat) and climb trees. Poppy is a SkyClan cat for sure!
