Name: Cuniculum terralopus nutriens Scientific Name: Cuniculum terralopus nutriens Family: terralopus nutriens Diet: Nutrients and Minerals in substrate such as Zinc. Size: 2.3 feet tall (without Cataoris coming out the top) Mobility: Sessile All members of the terralopus nutriens family feed on nutrient-rich soil and substrate. They are sessile and usually hide in their protective exoskeletons, only bringing out their Cataoris, two 2-4.7 foot long limbs, each with three mango-sized pods that absorb nutrients in the substrate. This particular species evolved to live deep in caverns, safe from predators and even having thousands of individuals in a colony. They shoot seeds into the air which are scattered by the wind. Their exoskeleton is made of liquid bicarbonate they absorb through their surroundings. The outer exoskeleton is hardened calcium carbonate. The exoskeleton requires Nitrogen, humidity, and C02 to strengthen. They may look unmoving like plants though they cannot move, They respond to touch and pain stimuli. When in danger, they harden their exoskeleton and hide their vulnerable Cataorises. They warn others of danger by releasing ultra-frequency sounds. Keys: C to show Cataoris.
