I know I know I’m still trying to be on hiatus and I’m failing QUESTIONS: 1. To start off, how long have you been creating art for? My whole life, though it never really became an interest of mine until 6th grade 2. Do you consider yourself a beginner artist? I’d be lying if I did lol 3. How often do you draw? Uhm yes (almost every day) 4. What mediums do you have experience with? Digital (most experience), traditional, painting, clay sculptures, photography photography editing, and mixed media :) 5. What's your favorite medium? Digital :> 6. What was the last thing you created/drew? A digital panel for my warriors comic, The Approaching Darkness, just a simple artwork, but effective. 7. What's your favorite thing to draw? Cats, they’re also how I build on my style, they’re easy to experiment with. 8. Favorite color / color combination? Pink and purple Used to be red and pink but that’s a weird story lol 9. Least favorite color / color combination? Unless combined with something, I sometimes hate dark yellow. Somehow making yellow just the right amount of dark makes me feel disgusted 10: What, in your opinion, is a feature that defines your artstyle? The big ahh eyes 11. Do you prefer digital or traditional art? Digital 12. Do you flip your canvas, if you draw digitally? No, but I do have an easy basic shading/lighting technique that requires flipping layers 13. Vector or Bitmap? Bitmap, though I wish they’d add more. Been nearly the same for years 14. What's your favorite digital art app [and brush]? Procreate and I like my custom brushes that can easily put a watermark down. It feels convenient. 15. How do you protect your art from theft? Watermarking in hard to edit places and also I just don’t post a lot of my best artworks on here anymore, if the 8 year olds don’t got nothing to be jealous about, they won’t commit crimes lol 16: Do you allow recoloring of your work? Tracing? I’m ok with it if it ISNT shared. Tracing can help an artist improve, but sharing it and/or claiming it as your own art is not ok. Recoloring? I don’t like nor want it, but after moss-shadow? I won’t be too hard on anyone, I’ll just ask for credit before asking them to take it down. 17. Are you okay with people reposting your original art with credit? I guess. Well, I’m not. But I’ve accepted I can’t do much about it. But I want the art to stay on this site or any other site I’m on. With credit ofc. 18. Do you feel comfortable with people referencing your art? How heavily? As someone who self taught themself a lot and learned from others, I’m a-ok with people referencing some of it, but I don’t want them outright trying to steal my style or characters. (Unless it’s like a drawing in (user)’s style project) I’ve stolen 2 characters before, but the guilt got to me after I realized it was bad that I did that, so I stopped using them. I won’t accuse anyone of style theft though, as my art style is built upon inspiration of other’s art, so anything similar is likely coincidental. 19. Do you have a main OC / persona? Who are they? A fennec dragon-fox (I know now it’s not an original species, but I did have the idea before I knew lol) named Flurry Drizzle Flurricane :) Her ref is on my profile
20. Halfway there- how many OCs do you have? What the hell is that question I can’t answer that ;w; 21. Do you draw fanart? If so, for which fandom[s]? I don’t do it often, but I usually do it for fandoms I love, idols, and friends. (With the exception of characters that I just can’t draw FANTOCCIO FROM BILLIE BUST UP YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) 22. Name an aspect of art that you're really good at. I think I’m good at cat and dog anatomy. 23. Name something you'd like to improve on in your art. Head proportions and dinosaurs. I’m doing way better with my heads, but close-up shots still have big heads. And I’m working on a webcomic involving dinosaurs, which I don’t ever draw, so I’d like to improve those. 24. What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your artistic process? Fav? Lineart, it feels like everything begins to come together, even if all I’ve done is a sketch beforehand. 25. Who or what inspires you? I think @moss-shadow and @9rainbowtails were the main contributors to my hobbies and likes in art, so they’re both important idols to me in that way. 26. Name 3 [or more!] of your favorite artists. @9rainbowtails, @LinkScratchStar, @moss-shadow, I could go on. But I enjoy the art of all my friends and idols. I do especially love Auralmeow’s (on CF) art, her comic What Lurks Beneath is amazing. 27. Is there an artist that you think deserves more recognition? @LexyIsDweeb, absolutely, my bestest friend irl, extremely underrated here. Also @Twigbelly, @Flurry_sunnypig, @WhyTheChickenNuggets/@90k3m0nv0rtx my underrated scratch besties <3 28. Are you into animation? Hate doing most of the process Love the final product 29. Are you considering art as a future career or part-time job? If you have something else in mind, what is it? I want to be a comic maker! I enjoy story writing and digital art, they’re my passions, so why not combine my passions into a job? Backup job/temporary job is probably gonna be the Publix that’s like 5 minutes away lol 30. Do you take [or have you taken] art classes? I’ve taken an art class for multiple medias (Visual Art 1) and a digital art class, which also included photography and editing (forgot the name of the class) 31. What tips or advice would you offer to a beginner artist? Experiment and learn! “Practice makes decent, because no one is perfect” - @XPertFox1 You may never think your art is perfect, but if you practice, learn from others, take your time, and be willing to try new things, you might get to a level of art that’s good by you :) 32. Do you listen to anything while you draw? My playlist of a bunch of random songs or my current song obsession (music-wise). I’ll also use my iPad’s picture-in-picture feature, my tv, or my phone to watch tv shows and movies while I draw. 33. Do you sell your art online, in person, or at all? I don’t have any way to sell my art, but I suppose that’ll automatically come with being a professional graphic novel artist and writer. 34. What are your go-to art materials? Since I do digital, I guess an iPad (this one is slightly crap wheeze), Apple Pencil, and my chair lol Traditionally I like mechanical pencils for sketching, sharpie/markers for line art, and markers and colored pencils for coloring and shading. Clay sculpting, I’ll just take any clay that ain’t messy and easy to use (which is what I have lol) 35. Do you prefer drawing humans or animals? Animals, no questions asked. 36. Painting or sculpting? Sculpting, I feel like I’m bringing a character to life. 37. Who is your favorite classical artist? I don’t know uhhh ;w; mY sIsTeR? /hj What’s a classical artist- 38. Do you prefer realism, semi-realism, or cartoon? Cartoony with realistic traits, so I guess that counts as semi-realism? 39. What is your favorite art piece [by another artist]? I don’t remember it too well, but my sister made a blue dragon on Medibang some years ago, it was detailed and adorable. 40. Last one! What brand is your sketchbook? It just says Paper Factory on the back so I assume that? CREDITS artwork and questions by @crow-wings 2023
