Have you ever heard of Elizabeth Jennings? On July 16, 1854, Elizabeth Jennings wanted to ride on a white only horsecar, as she was late for church. But soon after she got on a car, she was forced to get off, because she was an African American. Her case in the court was decided in her favor in 1855.
