!!!TW: DISCUSSION OF GANGS, GETTING ABANDONED, UNALIVING A SIBLING, REFRENCES TO RACISIM, SELF HATE, CHILD @BUSE, F2U BASES & PAST MARY SUES!!! Heatstroke grew up on a crowded oasis in the depths of the desert with her mother (Rattlesnake) and older sister (Keslo), who were the leaders in a street gang called The Rattlesnakes. Heatstroke was forced to join the gang. She suffered; many Dragonflame cacti dropped on the hideout, being the reason for her leg scarring; She was taken hostage, her ransom being the life of one of her best friends, Mosquito, being traded and never seen by the gang again. shortly before she turned 5, her mother and sister were taken to jail by Queen Diamondback. She and many others were spared by swearing a blood oath to never interact with gang life ever again. unlike many, she upheld her promise, even landing a spot in Jade Mountain Academy, where she was able to find out that Mosquito was alive, having been brought to the queen and held the same oath. They bonded over their shared traumas but were temporarily separated by Heatstroke's help on a quest to rescue her clawmate. Orangetip, a Silkwing, grew up on Pantala, and he had a reasonable childhood. this all changed once he was able to go to JMA with a friend because of his intelligence. Once there, he was able to have his metamorphosis! He went into his cacoon, staying for only 2 days. He came out with beautiful silk, being able to shoot silk further than any other Silkwing on the mountain. But the downside was that he was unable to grow wings, having buds where they would have been. He didn't let this affect him; he worked with Hornet to make faux wings for a semester, but as soon as two of his clawmates went missing, he put his wings to the test in escaping to find him. Pheonix was raised by their mother, father, and godparents among travelers. They felt like the center of their world, loved for being smart and funny. However, when their mother had another dragonet, Pheonix sensed their importance fading. With the hatching of Cowbird, all attention shifted to him. Pheonix grew paranoid, fearing they were losing their parents' love. One day, while playing in a river, Cowbird's foot slipped, and he was swept away. Their parents were devastated, leaving Pheonix confused about the loss of attention. Eventually, they ran away and encountered other dragonets from Jade Mountain Academy, only for everyone to realize Pheonix was insufferable and self-centered. Secretseer was born in Possibility under two full moons, gifted with prophecy and weak mind-reading abilities. Her remarkable prophecies earned her the nickname Clearsight the Second among her Hivewing friends. Desiring relief from unwanted knowledge and migraines, she begged her dad for skyfire. For her 4th birthday, he got her a skyfire bracelet and a spot at Jade Mountain. There, she discovered the fear surrounding Nightwings with powers since Darkstalker's return, leading her to become more isolated. When her clawmate Shimmer goes missing, her friends persuade her to help search for him. She is used as an important asset for tracking down the dragon's kidnapper, who she seems to know a bit too well... Shimmer was born with a deformity that makes it difficult to control his scale color. So instead of just living it out with pride, he started to hate himself for it. He would frequently take it out on others, constantly getting punsihed for it, his punishments to be making gifts to forgive them. When he started to carve intricate sloths, mangoes, monkeys or even dragons, they became impressed and he got into Jade Mountain Acadamy via Queen Fabulous taking a liking to him. But that may have been one of the best and worst decisions of his life, as turns out people who get hurt often want revenge. Nobody truly knows about Snowstorm. They always lurk in the corners, covering themselves with their dark wings. They wear a single piece of jewelry, even though rumor states they are next in line for the Icewing throne. When their clawmate they suddenly missed class for a few days--what a coincidence!--So did Shimmer. Calcite was born as an albino Mudwing. It's not the most uncommon thing, there's about 20 in the entire Mudwing population, so he was able to find his father, Babirusa, very easily. They quickly bonded and have became almost inseparable, so it hurt Calsite more than anything when his father asked if he wanted to go to Jade Mountain to learn to be a detective. He first thought of it as a way for his father to leave him, but then his curiosity grew. He ended up being chosen. Ecstatic, Calsite promised to visit Babirusa on the weekends. Once he got there, he bonded with his Clawmates, including a special someone, who helped them in school, but his love disappeared while they were on a quest to find Shimmer. He stayed behind in case Shimmer was there.
(Ran out of room above) As the child of an animus queen, Shrimp was almost destined to have magic. Upon discovering his animus abilities, he excitedly tested them with his Uncle Reef, who had been an animus himself. However, after starting lessons, Shrimp became terrified of his magic and enchanted an earring that suppressed his powers until it was removed. Reef supported this decision, and they gradually drifted apart. When the new semester at Jade Mountain approached, Shrimp begged his mother to enroll him, as she had fond memories of the place. Once in the Amatheist winglet, Shrimp enchanted a scroll to learn about his clawmates. He excelled in class, using a shell to echo whispered questions back to him. He frequently switched between wearing the earring and not, going unnoticed by everyone except his friend Calsite, who advised him to keep it on. One day, while enchanting a quill, Shrimp's clawmate Snowstorm asked for Shimmer. Shrimp said he hadn't seen him. Concerned, Shrimp later searched for Shimmer when he went missing and was the first to ask the principal if they could leave to look for him. Growing up as the second youngest child out of 7, Hornet learned very quickly how to fight. His siblings were constantly fighting each other for the measly scraps that his parents provided them and for their different standings in the war. After another fight with the oldest 3, Hornet and his sister, Zoraptera, had enough. They packed only the essentials, like a bag of coins Zoraptera had been saving and Hornet's jewels to sell, and they were on their way. They lived in a hut on an island between Pantala and Phyrria, so they were flying for days before they got to Pantala. There, the ran into a kind Silkwing, who Hornet took a liking to. That Silkwing, named Orangetip, helped them get their life settled back down. As soon as Orangetip learned about Jade Mountain Acadamy, he asked if Hornet would like to come with him. Hornet said yes, leaving Zoraptera with Orangetip's loving parents and promising to write. When he discovered that his best friend had no wings, he helped engineer new ones for him.
