PAIN the thumb isn’t working aaaaa- “Once a monster, always a monster.” Mythris, a young demon, becomes interested in the ways of the living. This obsession becomes a powerful weakness to his being and public picture. 〘 Art Pieces 〙 1. Headshot I love the lighting and shading! Added a mouth and random markings to make the design more complicated and interesting 2. Simple ref I’m really satisfied with my redesign, I love the markings ;0; I also love that claw from the original design it looks so cool- the bg is m e h tho 3. Original design and art by @skriblio_! ⌦ S t o r y t i m e Mythris . he / it Born a demon, stayed a demon. Mythris never experienced the life of the living due to the duty of the many demons in the afterworld : pick on the visitors until their spiritual minds broke. Mythris was an odd one though. Didn’t like to torture. And definitely not to be tortured. Instead, he would treat his patient with kindness and ask them about their past life. Many didn’t like the “unordinary” way he taught revenge on the souls brought to their realm. Mythris ignored their comments. They meant nothing to him. He continued doing the teachings in his way, and doing so brought a deep interest to the living not long later. During his free time, Mythris would watch the Earthlings from above in the storm clouds. He watched them for hours at a time sometimes. The way the livings were built, acted and even the way they moved intrigued him. He soon wanted to be able to live, just like them. So he tried. Most of the demons he went to talk about it to ignored him. Others listened. Kind of. No one believed it was possible, let alone the fact that it was a ridiculous thing to wish for in the demons’ realm. Mythris was discouraged many times, almost too many times to continue chasing this strange dream of his. “You’re too ugly, you only have one eye and no sign of any ears” they would say. At one point, he was extremely close to finally listening to the others’ comments and stopping. Until an eyed figure appeared on his door step one morning. Black and white and covered with colourful eyes, the creature didn’t exactly fit in with the afterworld country. But it brought Mythris what he wanted. It proposed a deal ; it would give Mythris the opportunity to live for a day, maybe up to a week, in the world of the living, and in return, he would have to help him with his missions. Mythris accepted. He accepted within a second. Too quick. Almost like he had been controlled. “Very well then” the creature said, and with a snap of 2 round fingers on its paw, Mythris was living. Finally, his dream became true. But maybe not in the way he wanted. Mythris definitely did NOT fit in with the living. But he didn’t care. He got to walk on grass. To eat. To breath. Ah yes, a dream come true. Sadly, the week passed quickly for him, because a demon could live for thousands of years. Did the colourful-eyed creature ever say he could go again? He hoped so. If not… Why did he accept again? The midnight of his last day, Mythris was gazing at the stars for a few minutes before he would return to his birthplace. His… home. Yes, home. Before long, he heard a snap of fingers. He hadn’t heard the noise since a week ago and that noise that used to be a happy memory became a disappointing one. However, instead of being brought to the after world, Mythris found himself surrounded by darkness. All around him was pitch black. “Heyy!” He called. “Anyone out there? WHERE AM I!?” He became frantic in less than a minute. This reaction of his to the darkness reminded him of the affect the teachings a normal demon at the afterworld would do to their patients. He couldn’t possibly be… A test subject? *No way, I must be wrong.* he thought. He said it, but didn’t believe it completely. A chill went through his body. No way. No way. Noooo way. Luckily he was wrong. The black and white creature appeared in front of him once again. This time, the eyes weren’t open. “I wonder why” wondered Mythris. It spoke “Hello there.” “Where am I?” Mythris prepared a fighting stance. His wings were tingling. That wasn’t a good sign. “Nowhere too important.” The creature replied. It pretended not to see Mythris’s frustration. “Just the endless abyss” “Wha-“ “No, actually more like a sideways abyss, since it’s not exactly a hole.” Mythris let out a frustrated sigh. “You know that’s not what I meant” “Sure I do” the creature brought a paw to some head wings to scratch them. “Sadly, I’m not allowed to answer you though. Business is business, right?” Mythris growled. “You agreed though right?” It turned to face Mythris directly in his one eye. “You agreed to the deal, it’s not like you can back out now.” Mythris knew that. He knew what he’d done. He wasn’t sure if it was a good idea after all. “Anyways, I’ll see you tomorrow during work! Have fun in your abyss. just one more thing... You’re not the only one who fell into our plan.” (Continues)

Description

(Continues from above) In a blink, the back and white guy is gone, leaving Mythris by himself. In the darkness of the sideways abyss. He fell to the floor and water welled up in his eye. A tear rolled down his face. He couldn’t breathe the fresh earthy air. He couldn’t feel grass. He couldn’t gaze at stars. After that paradise Mythris had once experienced, his home traditions no longer felt right. He longed to breathe. He longed to be living More tears strolled down the sides of his face “Why did I do this to myself? If I hadn’t gone to earth, I wouldn’t feel so misplaced” he meant what he said. ——— In the shadows, a dark figure loomed and watched Mythris’s every move. “Maybe you didn’t choose to accept. Maybe I made you accept.” A jaw full of white pointy teeth glistened in the darkness, and just as mysteriously as they appeared, the figure disappeared. (Long pause) (Idk consider this part 2 or smth) Mythris sat in the darkness, exhausted. One week, he’d been trapped in the endless sideways abyss (as his trapper called it) and he’d given up on all hopes of escaping. How could you escape somewhere that created an infinite amount of space anyways? There was no proof that that was true, but Mythris still thought it. He stood finally. His legs were going numb from the constant sitting. And his paw hit something button-like. A soft “click” was heard, and something screen-like opened behind Mythris. It showed a dark alley, and a living in front of the camera. But once this “camera” moved, he realized it wasn’t a camera at all. It resembled a person’s steps. A first person show? No… that couldn’t be right. No TVs existed in the afterworld. Yet, the abyss wasn’t the afterworld. Mythris watched as the person approached the surprised young living. And he recognized him. Teijin. He’d been observing him during his hours of free time. He wondered why he questioned life, as it was a huge privilege to him. And now he was in front of him. On a screen anyways. Or so he thought. Excitement raced through Mythris. Would he be able to finally ask him what he’d been dying to ask? His excitement immediately vanished once Teijin’s face stretched to form fear. And he whispered something under his breath. “Mythris…” (Ok that was a bit long for a prologue-) Art and Story by @chocoprogramming Design by @skriblio_ #art #dta #entry #dtae #all
