Oh, come on! That’s not pizza. That’s an ugly, tacky bird’s nest on top of a cement tower. No pizza for you! If a street-facing portion of the heavily trafficked 4th Street bridge were being used to serve hot pizza (after all, the pizza house on the ground floor is quite good), I’d say that’s pretty impressive. But that doesn’t happen, of course. And the pizza atop this tower in downtown St. Paul seems an utterly ridiculous gimmick. To be fair, it’s a crowd-funded effort, so maybe people will eat this thing anyway. Either way, it’s probably one for the local bird book. Look, it’s not like they’re serving a few tables of hot pizza out of the tower, either. They’re serving a massive tower of pizzas, piled three floors high and 50 people high. If someone tried to call that a slice, I’d have to put my head in my hands and take a nap. A huge pizza tower topped with deep-dish pizza is rising on the 4th Street bridge in St. Paul this summer.
