There’s something that needs to be addressed.. It’s how we treat tracers, not just on scratch, but everywhere. Whenever people spot a tracer, the first thing they do is call them out, or insult them, or tell them to get off the platform. But this doesn’t solve anything. Most of the time, it just makes things worse. When having an argument or a disagreement with another person, insulting them will just make them more upset and escalate the situation even more than it needs to be. The same goes with people who trace. In all the experiences I’ve had with talking to tracers, only once has someone gotten angry when I confronted them, and it wasn’t even the person who was tracing. The rest of the time, people we’re willing to give drawing them self a try, instead of tracing. What I’m trying to say is, maybe we’re part of the problem. People won’t stop unless we, as a community, actually start treating people as, well, people. The same goes for recolorers, and people who steal art. Just treat people with kindness, it’s not that hard. I know I usually like to keep things light and fun, but this is important. If I wouldn’t have said it, then who would? I’m just hoping that this message can get across. I’d appreciate it if anyone could help share this message by remixing or another thing, as I feel like everyone needs to hear this. Thanks for reading.
