Instructions

The description is below, please scroll down. Thank you! How to play: Help Chase Ambrose find Mr. Solway's Medal of Honour! Click on the roof shingles to lift them, and uncover the medal as many times as you can in one minute. Try to beat the current high score! Good luck! Disclaimer: If you do not have full Scratcher status, or do not have an account, if you beat the highest score, it will not register. For my creative piece, I decided to create a video game about Restart's rising action. In the story, Chase Ambrose is walking to Brendan's house when he sees the girl from his memory in a painting upon noticing the moving boxes spread out along the sidewalk. When he got amnesia, that girl was the only thing that he could remember. His neighbours were moving out of their house, and he found out that the painting had previously been in their room upstairs. Discombobulated, he realised that he had never been to the top floor of their house, so the only place he could have seen it would be from his rooftop- where he fell from, causing his amnesia. Startled and disturbed, Chase rushed to his roof and carefully eased himself into the position in which he could see his neighbour's top floor window. There, he also gained sight of a loose roof shingle. Hidden underneath it was Mr. Solway's Medal of Honour- earned, lost, stolen, and found once more. That is when he came upon the sudden realisation that he must have been the one who stole it, not Aaron or Bear (his former partners-in-bullying). This led to the climax, wherein Chase returns the medal to Mr. Solway and gets arrested for his crime. However, after an outstanding show of community support and being vouched for by a decorated veteran (Mr. Solway), he was pardoned. His past victims were able to forgive him, and he completed his path to redemption and self discovery. That is the significance of the scene, and why I chose this part of the story to turn into an interactive game, complete with a slideshow/cutscene introduction.

Description

This project was created for my book report on Restart by Gordon Korman. Art by MPRB Coding by MPRB Game Concept by MPRB Story Concept by Gordon Korman Music from the Scratch Sound Library Thank you to the creators of the Scratch Wiki (https://en.scratch-wiki.info/) for inspiration regarding code workarounds. This resource was extremely useful in the creation of this project. Thank you to the creators of the Scratch website, coding language and interface. I could not have made this game without you. Thank you to Gordon Korman for writing the book Restart. I wold not have done a book report on this book if you hadn't written it. Thank you to the Scratch Sound Library for all music and sound effects used to enhance this game. Thank you to my parents and the parents of the creators of the Scratch Wiki, Scratch Website, Scratch Sound Library, and the novel Restart. I would also like to thank the parents of the aforementioned parents, and so on. None of this wouldn't have happened without the ancestors of everyone who contributed. Thank you to my teacher (and my teacher's ancestors) for making me to do this book report project in the first place. I hope this creative piece is satisfactory to you. Lastly, thank you to all the other viewers of this project for deciding to play this game and read its description. Enjoy! -MPRB
