Kilroy was a WW1 and/or a WW2 and was amazingly similar to a modern meme. The joke was that Kilroy had been everywhere before the GIs got there. He greeted them in Okinawa, Casablanca and in Sicily he cheered them to Berlin. PS: Forgot to mention that Kilroy was a super soldier.
