Space Built in 1895 by Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Western Pennsylvania & Ohio Railroad. 5 was the largest most powerful engine on the line mainly assigned to freight duties. in 1905 the engine was fitted with air brakes. in 1910 the WP&O closed, 5 was used to tear up the line. 5 was sold to the Swatara Creek & Berks County railroad where it was renumbered 9. The engine reunited with ex WP&O 2 now SC&BC 8. in 1917 9 was upgraded with a new air brake system, spark arrestor and electric appliances. the engine was mainly used on freight trains. in 1926 the engine became the official reading yard switcher and was given a switching pilot and a second sand dome for this task. The engine served well in reading but was eventually scrapped in 1951 do to old age at age 56
