man - it's been two whole months and I still like this- finally had the motivation to draw the backgrounds for this um a little context on what's going on here: so basically Verity (the dark blue one) is a young Shadowborn kit, living alone in a rocky valley slum sort of? (it's supposed to be a village in a bowl shaped landform but I suck at backgrounds) Due to her dual powers being so rare and feared, she lives alone and evades all attempts at being captured until Radiance, the Shadowborn leader corners her with an offer - join the Shadowbound Association and use her talents to Radiance's benefit in a rebellion of his brewing, and in exchange, he'll teach her to fight properly and be sure to give her an honorable death, away from the threat of being enslaved or indentured, dying in the paws of a corrupt slaver or merchant, as nothing but a possession. However, Radiance wields powerful, unnatural magic that is only acquired through violent means and while Verity is at first reluctant to join him, the allure of power is too much and she offers him her services. tldr - cult leader recruits powerful child
