This project is a simple interactive project that teaches about the Advent Wreath, which is used in many Christian traditions to celebrate the season of Advent. Different parts of the wreath have different meanings; click on each part (the wreath, the ribbon, or the candles) to learn about what they mean. Likewise, you are free to simply sit back and watch the candles glow as you listen to the song "Light the Advent Candle".
Advent, which is celebrated four weeks before Christmas (December 25) is a season in which focuses on prayer, penance, and good deeds as preparation for the Christmas season (and not because Santa is watching! 8D) *Note: The information used here is based from what I was taught as a Catholic. Other religions that use an Advent Wreath may attribute different symbolic ideals to the Advent Wreath, or may even use a different type of Advent Wreath design. The information I provide here is by no means a generalized view of the Advent Wreath. *Song: "Light the Advent Candle" by Mary Walker. Arrangement by Bob Sorem. Music used under Bob Sorem's terms of use (as of May 2009).
