Kansas but Texas... Two tornadic signatures pop up on the NEXRAD radars across south Texas. This is the moment the first warning is issued for what will be an EF5 tornado, the first since the Broken Arrow 2024 tornado, and with winds miles high mirroring the 2020 DFW EF6. The tornado was so powerful up high that it began sucking in clouds from the QLCS system behind it. TORNADO 1: S OF PLEASANTON-VICTORIA RATING: EF3 - EST WIND SPEED: 180 MPH SEVERE DAMAGE IN CAMPBELLTON AND GOLIAD. WIND SPEEDS RECORDED TO MAX AT 184 MPH OVER OPEN COUNTRYSIDE. TORNADO 2: S OF FREER TO 5 ENE BISHOP RATING: EF5 - EST WIND SPEED: 220 MPH EXTREME DAMAGE. ALICE, DRISCOLL, CORPUS CHRISTI WITH EXTREME DAMAGE. DOZENS OF FATALITIES ALONG THE PATH DUE TO POOR BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. SEVERAL EXTREMELY WELL-BUILT HOMES SWEPT AWAY WITH FOUNDATIONS DAMAGED OR REMOVED.
