PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS ENGINE WITHOUT CREDIT OR PERMISSION-- ok thanks :)))) very epic metroid logo vector made by @Codekirby, go check him out! Controls: Use the arrow keys to move, aim, and select. Press Z to jump and confirm. Press X to shoot and go back. Press the down key to crouch, press it again for morph ball Press C to quickly to toggle morph ball, or to slide when moving Updates: - Ver 0.8.2 - Merry happy 4th of july! This is the biggest update in a while! - New title screen music - Tweaked title screen a bit - New Logo - Added collision to doors - Removed collision behind doors - Changed the "respin" function a bit - Changed rooms to appear more "tile based"(as before I was just rescaling different sprites and it just didn't really work) - Fixed bug where you would stop spin jumping if you hit the ceiling - Change jumping to feel a bit more like other metroid games - Made Samus a bit less slippery - Made Samus a bit faster - Fixed bug with running animation - Made door loading and unloading cleaner - Adjusted the backdrop a bit - Added aiming(and it was really easy actually lol. after 3 long years. man.) - Polished the controls, and control manual(I guess you can call it that) NOTE: as I am remaking the rooms to fit this pixel-perfect theme, most of them are unfinished at the moment. also the key that toggles debug mode has been switched to the \ key. - Ver 0.8.1 - Fixed bug where you could slide in mid-air - Added test room - Added enemies, may be polished in a later update though - Added drops - Added "respin" while jumping as requested by @Captain_mushroom - Changed UI a little bit - In the next update, I plan to: - Add more enemies - Finish room(started adding 3rd room, but want to release this as soon as possible) - Add more rooms - Add more to the title screen - Add more story elements - Ver 0.8.0(changed count of versions) - HAPPY NEW YEARS! This game is will be 3 years old, with it starting in May 7th, of 2020 - Made an entire new engine with the help of @king8766's scrolling platformer engine(this new engine contains): - New Samus Scripts and Sprites - New Door Scripts - New HUD Scripts - New Transition Scripts - New Sound Scripts - New Scroll Lock Scripts - New Beam(now renamed to Player Projectiles) Scripts - New Thumbnail - Added Title Screen & Main Menu(nothing much at the moment, but at the more will be added later, including a save feature) - New Debug mode, as with a new engine, comes new variables - In the next update, I plan to add enemies, drops, and maybe even more rooms - Ver 0.0.7.8 - Gave beams a Y cord(you probably won't see a difference but it's a game changer) - Added more Assets - Added "CameraX" and "CameraY" for Cutscenes and other needed times using a camera - Added more Soundtrack(Thanks to @DordusRising for 06 of the soundtrack) - Replaced Gun Ship with the Star Ship from Metroid dread(a recolored, and edited sprite of the star ship from metroid fusion) - Fixed and changed door code as I found it didn't work in some cases and then also finding a bug(I fixed both), tho only for the doors on the left and right top and bottom haven't been changed yet(meaning their unusable) - Tried adding enemies, but I can't figure out how to do the AI at the moment(also added a small testing room for this reason) - Changed Hud, based of AM2R's Hud - Ver 0.0.7.7 - Used new Engine - Room assets have been completely changed - New scripts for Doors, and Spider Walls(or whatever they're called) - Sliding - New Map layout(unfinished) - New Parallax backdrop - And that's about it :) Thank you for waiting this long! - Besides that, I think we should add directional shooting again, and I will add the melee counter another time. - Ver 0.0.7.5 - Changed room layouts (ish) - Fix code (Kind of :P) - Add new jump code (It works better then the one we were using, kind of.) - Said "kind of" 3 times - Wow, this game is getting real far! Just get to bosses, more enemies, items, map layout... uh, nevermind - Sorry I not do much, it's like 8:30pm when I'm writing this XD -Ver 0.0.7.3 -Fixed a bit the animations -Fixed the map -Ver 0.0.7.2 -In progress of changing samus sprites (Need help on some animation code, it is buggy :P Yey, I'm looking at you @DramaticMarquinhosvi) -Changed hub -Fixed intro sequence. (12/31/22) - As you know, the description if the Instructions is limited to a certain amount of characters. So some the update patch notes have been deleted, if you would like to see them, I would recommend going to an older update.
