Heyo, Oreo here! ^^ I came back to my roots on scratch- As you all probably know, I used to use bitmap for all the art I made. Because 12 yr old me was like "Vector sucks wahhh" It was kinda hard to do the art though, since I had to manually remove the sketch- Now I am going to ramble about my art journey because thats somewhat related to this I guess! [Long paragraph waring /hj] It all started on this funny website. I found it because I was doing a project in 5th grade RTI, and i did something related to coding. and then I just found it. I don't remember exactly what I searched, but If I didnt search that thing, I'd probably not even be here! Anyways, After I started using scratch for a while, and took a break, then came back a year later, I started trying out vector! Thats when I made Cloudy, and then I just started making more characters. I would also use Paint 3D for my art until I decided to use Bitmap in February of 2022. My uh- Paint 3D art wasnt that reall good- like I was so lazy doing shading! I then tried out a new line art style. THAT WAS A HORRIBLE DISSASTER- I DIDNT EVEN TRY TO PUT EFFORT- Then in March I decided to change the line art again by adding black line art onto colored lineart. LIKE I DIDNT EVEN TRY TO MAKE THE LINES MATCH THE COLORS-. Then I decided to use the airbrush tool in that software to add the lighting. DUDE, LOOKING AT IT, IT LOOKS LIKE I JUST PUT THE COLOR RANDOMLY WITHOUT TRYING TO MAKE IT LOOK GOOD- But everything changed when I got an iPad for drawing in June 2022... I tried using a lineless style again! It looked, as well as you would expect it to be because that was my first time using Procreate. Then in July I went back to good old fashind black lineart! Line thickness changed here and there, but the weirdest part? MY ARTSTYLE LOOKED SO GEOMETRICAL HH- I also got inspired by the artsyle of fnf., and my shading drastically improved! I also would get spikes of motivation to improve my art! Like looking at some of my favorite artists drawings! I also tried out vector again, and its really working out for me! I love using vector to make thumbnails and for animations like in my AYS projects! I cant belevie my art has improved in a two-year time span- If you are feeling down about your art, just look at your older stuff and see how far you came since then! See ya later goobers! /pos -Oreo
