Iris Cauda is named after its iridescent tail fin, This tail fin was likely used to attract other Iris Cauda while simultaneously warding away predators with the light reflecting off the tail. Iris Cauda liked to live in groups of between 3 and 8 others. If they got separated from the group they would spend their time searching for a new one. Iris Cauda had thousands of tiny teeth, these teeth could be used to eat marine plants in shallow waters or to eat small marine creatures in the open ocean. Iris Cauda possessed a large chamber in their throat that allowed them to produce deafening vocals. It is estimated that the loudest Iris Cauda call could have been heard from up to 7 kilometers away.
