In 1998, the town of Boucherville, Quebec was hit by 3 ice storms. They lost power and the railroad was called in. They lifted 3502 off the tracks with a crane and drove it (under its own power) to the city hall while leaving ruts in the road. The locomotive powered a small neighborhood. The town eventually got power back and returned the locomotive. It needed servicing on the gears turning the wheels due to driving on the road but was put back in service.
