What you are seeing is the sphere with a lower dimensional 'slice' cutting through it. for example, you if you go to 2 dimensions, you can see a 1d sphere 'slicing' it in half. The 3 dimensional sphere is 'sliced' by a 2d sphere, and a 4d sphere is 'sliced' by a 3d sphere and so on. They will rotate in all dimensions at once.
