TW for bl00d and d3ath Name: Soul Taker Age: 116, but looks and feels still like a teenager. Theme song: Fighter by The Score Backstory! Soul Taker was once a normal wolf, but no-one much liked her because of her rather quiet and somewhat scary nature, except one wolf who always had her back: Nightingale. Most of the other wolves were cruel to her and attacked her verbally and physically for many years. One day, when she was 12 (in human years) she stumbled across the wolves who particularly hated her in the woods. They ambushed her, and she fought back, accidentally killing one of the attackers. Her soul was sucked out of her dying body, and into Soul Taker’s paws. The other wolves screamed and ran off, but Soul Taker froze and couldn’t move. Later, she brought the wolf’s body back, but none of them trusted her ever again. They exiled her from the village, and in her fury, Soul Taker began seeking out more creatures to k!ll. She collected the souls in glass jars and got herself a worn cloak with a gold clasp. One night, she snuck into the village and stole the skull of the wolf she first k!lled. From then on she wore it as a mask and no-one saw her face ever again. Then, the Lord of the Dead (whoever she/he was) came to her in a dream and recruited her for the collection of souls. She changed her ways and in return for eternal life hunted down those who were dying far from where the Lord of the Dead could claim them, and stole their souls herself. She was still hated by the village, but she didn’t care anymore. Her gender and reality was lost in legend and many saw her as some kind of demon, harbinger of doom and destruction. No one remembered that she was the little girl wolf who they banished years ago. As time passed, the villagers began creating magic to protect themselves from the reaches of d3ath. As such, Soul Taker was sent for them. It should’ve chilled her to k!ll half of her village in cold blood. It didn’t. Her heart had been turned to stone, cracked, splintered and stabbed over and over by both the job of k!lling and the trauma of living in her village. But while she was there, she found the only wolf who had ever been good to her. Nightingale. She saved her life and as a consequence, Soul Taker’s heart healed enough to stop killing for pleasure. She talked to the Lord of the Dead and from now on only took souls from those who were dying right then. Even though most of the world still saw a monster, a reaper, Soul Taker had changed inside. And that was all that mattered. Also Nightingale had gotten a job as a secretary in the land of the dead (it was recently created).
