Welp, guess who made another school project on here. Today, we present you PEBBLE the rock dragon! She's ready to explain to you about R O C K S and stuf yey. Ima make a CER so you can understand it better lol :) The Rocky Mountains and Great Plains have similar mineral compositions because the energy from the sun weathered away the rocky mountains, to form the sedimentary rocks from the Great Plains. According to the Rock formation model, it shows how an igneous rock can be weathered away into sediment to form a sedimentary rock. This shows how the 2 rocks have similar minerals because the sediment from the Great Plains was weathered away from the Rocky Mountains. And due to this happening, the rocks have similar minerals, just like how people can have similar genetics if they are related. According to the text about Devil's Tower, "Blowing wind and falling rain weathered nearby rock formations over and over, causing small pieces to break off and become sediment." Or in other words, energy from the sun weathers the rock, causing it to become sediment. Which will later become sediment that is near the rock. This shows how the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains have similar mineral compositions because of weathering and energy from the sun.
