Bearded Vulture; aka the lammergier (german for lamb vulture) -------------------•~●《◇》●~•------------------------- Why I like these terrifyingly beautiful babies: -they look like dragons -their eyes are cool as heck -they are docile -look at the fluffs -------------------•~●《◇》●~•------------------------- Facts: -85-90% of their diet is bones and bone marrow. -red is not a natural color of the bearded vulture. Beginning at the age of 7, they rub the ionized dirt on their feathers for looks. Their natural colors are yellowish-white and gray-black. -they have saxual dimorphism. Which means that the male and females can be differentiated by looks. Females are much larger and have longer beaks and tails. -they grow to be 1 meter tall (40 inches) they're wingspan is 3 meters long (120 inches) -unfourtunately, its population is declining. -sometimes they hunt instead of scavenge -They live to be about 40 years old -They can fly up to 40mph -they symbolize luck and happiness
