Coal wandered mindlessly through the territory. He didn't know where he was going, what he was looking for, all he knew was that he was alone. Suddenly he saw a glimpse of a grey kit, but it wasn't Amber. It was fluffier and there was something chasing it. It was a black and russet figure. A.....a.....a FOX! Coal didn't know what to do. He heard the yelp of the kit and ran. He decided to return to the cave. He padded down the narrow passage faster than ever before, knowing that the fox wouldn't fit, but was still worried. When he reached the pool he flopped down and slept, but his sleep was dreamless, only occasionally seeing flickers of the kit that he didn't save.
