PLEASE READ THE TUTORIAL SECTION BELOW! And make sure to click on the green flag multiple times at first :) You open your eyes out from the dark egg you had finally escaped from. Dozens of other eggs lay broken near you. It appears you are the last hatchling to come out. You turn around and look out from the nest - and you see it. The glittering ocean. Shining bright with translucent light. One word immediately comes into your mind: "RUN". When many think of sea turtles, they think of adorable little hatchlings crawling to the beach. But to them, it's a rush - a matter of life or death. 50% of hatchlings crawling to the ocean don't even survive their first few seconds of life. 20% of eggs don't even hatch. A sea turtle's life is one of, if not the toughest life of any animal on the face of earth. Mother Nature has put all odds against you: crabs, birds, pitfalls, and litter lie in wait. And even if you do make it to the ocean, a new set of dangers comes out - suspecting fish, currents, and even severe weather. Not to mention the trillions of tons of plastic floating in the ocean. The ones that do make it to adulthood are the physical embodiment of a chance. A fighter. A miracle. Tutorial: Thanks for reading this! There are currently three stages of the game: the Dash, the Frenzy, and the Lost Years. 1. The Dash Use A/D or the arrow keys to move out of the way of crabs, eagles, and litter. However, the crabs and eagles won't move towards you unless you are in close proximity to them. 2. The Frenzy Use WASD or the arrow keys to guide yourself into the unknown. Keep clear of seabirds who will swoop in when you take a breath, fish that could follow you, and a dangerous current that could cause you to drown. And remember to take breaths! Every 10 or so seconds, you need to go to the surface to take a breath. Your objective is to find shelter, which could be something like a patch of floating seaweed. ;) 3. The Lost Years You're growing so fast now! Now that you're an adult, you can move up the food chain, eating various jellyfish while still keeping away from predators such as sailfish and marlin. Make sure to eat 10 jellyfish to be able to continue! Thanks for reading up to here. Here, have some tips and tricks: 1. Take advantage of the litter Touching the litter will not kill you! It will, instead, block your path, which could cause you to get crushed, but only gradually. I recommend camping near the litter, because then enemies will not see you. 2. Don't worry about breathing so much! Usually, when I play the game, I prioritize breathing in the ocean sections. However, it's not that important as you may think. Seize the perfect time to take a quick breath, and go back down. 3. Be aware of the jellies When you go down to eat the jellies, it will take around 3 seconds for you to devour them. During these seconds, you cannot move. This makes eating them a risk, because at anytime an enemy could spawn and eat you. The best thing for you to do is to find a jellyfish that's near the edges of the screen, 4. Never give up! I believe in you! You can do this! This game is very hard, but you can make it your challenge to do it. The ones that never give up will make it far. I believe you can do it <3
Miracles (winners): @RainbowGeckos @23C3TECH23 @catflubberblumf Whoa, it's finally done. I loved making this game, but it had a huge toll on me. I'm just really happy that I've made it this far, and I'm really excited to see what happens next. This is probably one of my favorites that I've made, and the hard work was worth it! This game embodies the sheer difficulty a sea turtle has to put up with. Did you know that less than a percent of them will actually even live up to adulthood? It's crazy. It's heartbreaking, yet it's true.
