The G54 "Pullcord" Grenade was a Dynabloxian grenade made in 1854, made with the sole intent of making grenades more practical by improving on their ignition/activation method. It was often used by Dynabloxian grenadiers to greater effects than earlier grenades, and worked really well in closer, less open spaces. However, the grenade typically was less effective in open battlefields. But, after the usage of grenades using similar priming mechanisms and high explosive became common, the G54 became obsolete. The G54 works by using a peculiar type of pull-cord mechanism: when the cord is pulled, it causes a mechanism to strike a percussion cap, which ignites the main fuse, which in turn will cause the grenade to explode. This is a improvement on the older method of lighting a fuse for multiple reasons, such as: - There's no need to use special tools to light the grenade, you just pull the cord and throw - The activation of the grenade is much quicker and less finicky - And, the activation of the pullcord grenade is simpler than the activation/lighting of a fuse grenade.
