STORY: As the pirate captain sailed his ship with his crew after the successful raid he couldn't help but feel sad. Though he had his mates who would give their life for him, they were more of sheep and terrified followers than close friends. This thought saddened him, as his heart longed for more than just authority. Perhaps he’d meet a shimmering mer soon, or an angel sent from above to bring a fair maiden, but alas his prayers had not and would not be answered, and there was not much he could do about this but give up on his hopes. ——— Late that night, when the boat was anchored and the crew was dreaming, the captain awoke to a sound he did not recognize. It was a voice, singing a lovely tune that flowed like lavender lotion and seemed to glitter like honeydew. He uncurled his tail from his face and left his cot, and then glanced through the window to see a beautiful, shimmering pink cat sitting on a rock above the water. Her pelt mimicked the stars and her paws looked soft yet strong enough to hold her own in a fight. As she sang the captains heart was encapsulated in her beauty, so much so he didnt think to consider where she may have come from. As the captain galloped onto the deck to get closer to the mysterious sea maiden, he saw her turn her head ever so slightly. As he saw her eyes, conflicting chills went through his spine and his heart. The She-cat had Glowing, sea-green eyes that seemed to cut through the fog and stare into his soul. The captain stepped back, both terrified and head-over-heels. He had only heard of these creatures in legends, had never seen one in person. He ran to the anchor, of which was dangerously near the siren. As he drew close she stood up and walked slowly towards him, under the impression he had come for her. A soft smile covered her face, and the captains heart fluttered. But he persevered and hastily brought up the anchor. As the She noticed, she drew back and bared her fangs in a hiss, of which were sharper and longer than any mortal cat’s should be. Her claws unsheathed she lunged herself onto the captain’s paws, trying to pull him into the water. The captain struggled, unsure if the adrenaline was from her danger or her beauty, desperately thrashing to get out of the siren’s grasp. As his strength weakened, hers only grew. With a final thrust from the She, the captain was pulled overboard and splashed into the water. The siren cackled, excited for her feast, when suddenly another cat knocked into her whilst she was distracted. A member of the crew had tackled her, and due to the surprise the siren ended up losing the fight, of which you’ll be spared the details. The crew member shot himself underwater, bringing up the captain and throwing him onto the deck. The captain lay unconscious as the crew member performed cpr, until eventualy he hacked up water and his eyes fluttered open. ——— “So a siren you say, huh?” Said the merchant at the dock. “Indeed, my crew member can vouch for me. I only wish to never meet that… thing… again.” Mewed the captain, recalling the traumatic event. “When i told you i’d trade you this amulet for a story from the sea, i assumed your story would be true. Everyone knows sirens are just myths and legends, i aint tricked that easily.” Laughed the merchant, thinking this story ridiculous. “Ay, its as true as the waves crashing into the sand. You may not believe it now, but you’ll have regrets when you chase a lady of the sea and end up fish food.” The angry captain hissed back. ——— As the captain and merchant feuded, they were unaware of prying eyes. Through the fog, just faintly, two sea-green eyes could be seen, her tail thrashing as she licked her cuts. The captain had been a bad target. But that merchant, my, he seems foolish enough… thought the siren as she put on a soft, gentle smile. Thats the end of the story! I hope you enjoyed. The context for the story: theres a mythical creature called the Siren, some versions look like mermaids, some look like birds with woman faces, etc. they sing and flirt with sailors to lead them into the water, in which the siren then eats the sailor. #Cat #Cats #Adopt #Adopts #Art #AdoptArt #submission #entry #pirates #mermaids #sirens #ocean #temptation #sea
