Fight For Truth vs Lecrae’s deconstruction Christian rapper Lecrae was faced with church-hurt not too long ago. It made him spiritually spiral out of control into deconstruction, and for a season, he did not go to church. Deconstruction is a form of asking yourself critical life questions, such as: “What’s the point of my life?” “Why do I live? “What am I sacrificing for?” “How should I live?” By answering these questions, it exposes what is pure and good in your life, and what needs to be rid of. With asking, and answering these questions, you will be able to see why you believe in Him, why He created you, and why you should trust in Him. This is nearly essential for going “all in” on Jesus; it’s important to know why you believe in Him before you commit to Him. Lecrae’s latest album, “Church Clothes 4” focuses on this idea of deconstruction. Although, Colin from the “Fight For Truth” channel on YouTube claims that deconstruction is good, but the way Lecrae is doing it is biblically wrong. He claims that since Lecrae didn’t go to church, he did not biblically deconstruct right. He said that Lecrae didn’t go to church because he thought it was “bad”. He had verses to back him up on why it was wrong, which did relate to why he should have gone to church. But, Lecrae only stopped going BECAUSE of the people. Lecrae’s “Deconstruction” is a song about his story of, well, deconstruction. It starts out by literally saying in the background “Find your way back home. No, time won’t take to long… put it behind you.” By this, it’s like he is literally saying that the church building, where you get to hear about His word, isn’t why he deconstructed. It later states that he deconstructed because of the people within. So with that, no… Lecrae IS in the right because he isn’t moving away from the Light the church brings, he is moving away from the people. The reason he deconstructed is literally in his song “Deconstruction”, which states: “Right before the fall of 2015, I was all off. It involved killing Michael Brown, it had my down. Tweeted about, Christians call me clown.” Lecrae tweeted was this: “Dear hip-hop, we can't scream 'murder, misogyny, lawlessness,' music and then turn around and ask for equality and justice.” And because of this, he was hated on by other “Christians”. It seems like the problem here is Christians who claim to know God, but really don’t, obviously. They don’t love unconditionally, when in reality, you cannot know God if you don’t love unconditionally. Even demons believe that Jesus is real! Look at James 2:19. If the demons can believe, than so call anyone who does not know God. A Christian is one who believes, but also one who listens. “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.” (Matthew 7:21) Lecrae’s deconstruction was caused by the phony, fake Christians who hate on others who don’t agree with what they say. Lecrae did nothing wrong, and I do think it’s ok for Fight for Truth to be concerned, but you need all the evidence before you can judge. Maybe sometimes, even if it’s unbiblical, you need to step into other people’s shoes. They might be hurting far more than you think they are. Maybe they are doing something wrong, but either way… if they were seeking God, they will find Him, they will surly find their way back home. This is a perfect case of why we really need to love others, even if we don’t agree. I highly recommend looking at all this for yourself, including Fight For Truth’s video about Lecrae. Just type in “Fight for truth lecrae”. I also recommend listening to Lecrae’s song “Deconstruction”. Deconstruction | Lecrae: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/784633261
