A speech delivered by Annika Koslov to an assembly of representatives of the various Astanislavian provisionally led nations of the former UCCR. "Ahem... it was only a few years ago when your countries were, well, not yet even that, simply a scattering of small towns banded together for protection, with the occasional figure trying to hold something together. I'm sure you all know this story, but please allow me to retell it for, well, dramatic effect, really. "Back then, there was no Sotkova, Tavinistan, Yunijan- no rhyme or reason to speak of. Here in Astanislavia, we had always desired to help what would grow into these lovely states, but we were always held back, it seemed, from truly devoting the resources we wanted to it; that was until Alpha Corporations initiated hostilities, and we realized that they may well attempt to invade and take over that land of the former UCCR. "Finally with a proper excuse to help, we worked with New Kobania and other Second Coalition states to begin dividing up the land into nation-states, or even countries united in vision or background. We first faced revolts, armed conflicts breaking out, costing many a brave soldier; and of course we do not blame you at all for it, we would likely act the same way in that situation. In attempts to calm down the rebels, we began setting up sustainable sources of clean water, energy, more efficient farming methods, useful and compact infrastructure, just generally doing our absolute best to improve the quality of life in these new nations as best as possible. And I do believe we have, for the most part, succeeded. "We've given you a lot of things, and we're ready to formally gift you one last, ah, ability: from now on, the Republic of Sergania, the Astanrus Republic, the Kanatian Republic, the Voghuvan Republic, the Bahrain Socialist Republic, the Republic of Yunijan, the Entirian Republic, the Socialist Republic of Sotkova, and the Republic of Tavinistan shall have full sovereignty. "Of course, you always had a high degree of independence, but we are now fully giving you the ability to make whatever decisions you like, and to be no longer, ahem, provisionally led by our motherland. We ask of only one thing in return, which is of course to remain with the Second Coalition, although as I said it is only a request, not a trade- you will receive your independence regardless of whether or not you remain with the Coalition, although if you do leave we will be much more restricted in our ability to help you to grow, as, well, it would be literally dangerous to us to devote so many resources to a separate state, even if it was what we desired. "And as implied, we will continue to offer aid in your sovereignty. So, uh... have fun!" This decision had been made almost a week earlier, and the leaders of those Republics had been notified at the time; however further political talks were conducted only later that day, to define alliances, resource allocation, fix any issues, et cetera.
