"orphan boy" [pt.1] genre ; fantasy . drawing by me ; made on Kleki <3 ――――――― Hi. My name is Michael Anders, but you can just call me Mike. I'm a 13 year old boy who loves exploring things and most importantly ... I absolutely LOVE inventing things and creating new things for new adventures that await for me. Do I go on them alone? Oh, yes. I might be an orphan boy, but I don't need parents to help me with my extravagant explorations. In fact, I feel like they'd prevent me from going on dangerous, but fun adventures like I do, at least, that's what my friends tell me. There's only so much I know about parents, but one thing my friends tell me about them is that they avoid all fun. I don't if that's true or not, but all to say, I love being solitary on my amazing missions and explorations that I go on! And one of those explorations changed my life forever. Just yesterday, I made a paper airplane at home with my own hands and made sure it was perfect before I decided to ship it to outer space. Yup, you heard me right, outer space! How did I do it? I'm glad you asked. So, I invented something a lot stronger & bulkier than a catapult. Something that works like a catapult, but has a design that will send the paper airplane so far that it might just be able to launch into outer space and hit the Moon. I know, crazy, right? The Moon talks to me a lot. He tells me about how his life is up in Outer Space. I only get to talk to him at night, when he's out. I hate daytime because I never get to see him! And that's where the problem comes in. A curse hit our town and now we're stuck in daytime. I KNOW, HORRIBLE, RIGHT?! We have to go to bed when it's still shining outside. Who did this? The Sun. That dusty old Sun. The Sun can be nice, but revenge is her favorite flavor. The Moon had accidentally touched one of the Sun's shining spots and now, there's a tiny burning spot that the Sun dramatically got infuriated about. In a rage, she forced the sky to stay at it's blue skiest and the clouds to stay at their full white, fluffy minimum. She used all of her forceful power to make sure that everything stays day, no matter what. She's so evil! She's not the bad guy in this story, but when bad things happen to her ... you don't want to be near her and things will happen that suck. Now, I don't even get to talk to him. So, that's why I'm sending him this paper airplane with my new invention, the launchapult! So, I went outside, the Sun was shining brightly and I without hesitation, put the paper airplane in the launchapult and it went back and then shot into the sky and then went to Outer Space. I used my megascope (a new invention I made that works 1000x better than an old microscope; it zooms in so much, you can see Outer Space through it) and that's just what I saw, OUTER SPACE. But I saw my paper airplane going to Outer Space and it landed right on the Moon. IT WORKED! YAY!!! I put a note inside the paper airplane saying, "Hey Moon, I really miss you! Since we can't talk, I decided I'd right a note to you, y'know, from Earth. I don't know, you might not be getting this note right now, but if you're out there and reading this, I want you to know, I miss you a lot and love you. I hope you come back. Please let me know how you're doing! -Mike" And that was the end of the note. I really hope he responds. I yawned. It was 11:04 PM. I decided to go to bed and see if he responded the next morning. It was daytime and I had to go to bed, cursed, I was used to it. Goodnight, Moon. Goodnight. <3 ――――――――――――
