Albatross is confirmed to be of IceWing descent which means that the entire royal SeaWing lineage is of IceWing descent. Being that all royal Seawings have Icewing blood, the Icewing that had eggs with a Seawing had animus blood, which is how royal Seawings had animus powers. Since Tsunami is a royal Seawing, it would make sense if she had some sort of similarity towards the Icewings, which she does. On Chapter 4, page 44 of The Flames of Hope, it states: "But when she looked along the beach, she saw that Tsunami lay unconscious on the sand. Another HiveWing with long claw-stingers stood over her, toxin and blue SeaWing blood dripping from the sharp points." In this paragraph, it said "blue SeaWing blood" which isn't the natural color of SeaWing blood, but the natural color of Icewing blood. (If you haven't read that part, don't worry, Tsunami isn't dead) Any Nightwing animus is descended from Whiteout, who was half Icewing. For example, Stonemover is a Nightwing who is related to Whiteout, we know that because he has animus magic. Skywings also had animus dragons, but once they were discovered, they were killed. Although, I still think Skywings have Icewing blood, since we've seen Skywings have pale colored scales and cool colored eyes. Peril, for example, has blue eyes. Typically, SkyWings have red, pink, orange, or golden scales with yellow, orange, or amber eyes. However, Peril is seen with blue eyes instead. For the Sandwings, it's still a mystery how any of the Jerboa's animus powers were obtained. Are the Sandwings also descended from Icewings? Or were the Sandwings the first tribe with animus magic? Based on that evidence, I believe Icewings were originally the first tribe to have animus powers. My question is, why would Icewings be the first tribe with this kind of power? Why were Icewings so special compared to the other tribes? And coincidentally, why does every tribe who had animus magic in the past have proof towards the theory that those tribes all descended from Icewings? The Great Ice Dragon is an ancient IceWing legend. Who or what the Great Ice Dragon is, is a mystery, but Tui T. Sutherland has confirmed that they're considered a godly figure. Many IceWings frequently swear under the Great Ice Dragon's name. In Moon Rising, Icicle mentioned the Great Ice Dragon in her thoughts: "By the teeth of the Great Ice Dragon, this is boring as sand. I shall certainly tell Mother and Father and Aunt Glacier what a waste of time this entire school is." In The Dangerous Gift, Snowfall frequently swore by the Great Ice Dragon too. Could the Great Ice Dragon be the one who caused animus magic in the first place? What did the legend of the Great Ice Dragon originate from? If the Great Ice Dragon never existed, who created the legend? This proves that if the Great Ice Dragon was the cause of the animus powers among Icewings, then the Great Ice Dragon isn't just one dragon.
