Description

Flashback time! Sol is 5. Venus is 7. And Leo is 16. Approximately. I wanted to give the side characters their own mini arcs, so here you get to see how Venus is doing back at home. And Leo is in this project too! Venus is just like Nicole, an older sister who cares about her younger sibling(s). At the end of the animation, press space for a bonus feature! Get ready for the story! (Third person, Venus's perspective, 18 years before the present) Venus was watching her little brother Sol play with his toy car. The two children were attending a family reunion. Relatives kept coming up to their parents to tell them how cute their children were. As Venus watched Sol play with his car, she remembered how responsible she had been, helping take care of him, almost from the time he was born. Venus and Sol were soon joined by an older cousin named Leo. Leo had brought his remote control truck and was showing to his cousins. His truck fascinated Sol, who wanted to play with it. Leo and Sol went to another area (Venus made sure that they stayed in her sight) and Leo showed Sol how to run the truck. As Venus watched Sol and Leo play with the truck, she remembered how Leo had always been a daredevil and hoped that he wouldn't be a bad influence on Sol. --- (Timeskip, 2 years before the present) Venus and Sol were on a backpacking trip with some friends. The group returning to the campsite after a hike to prepare for dinner. It wasn't long till Venus noticed that Sol was missing. "Hey, has anyone seen Sol?" she asked her friends. "He was right behind me during the hike," said one of them. "You guys go ahead and start dinner. I'm going to look for Sol," said Venus. She followed the hiking path back, retracing her steps. When she came to the overlook, there was Sol, lying several feet under the ledge. "Oh no," cried Venus. She made her way down to him. "Sol, what happened? Are you okay?" she asked. "I took a tumble and hurt my ankle. I don't think I can walk. But I'll be aright," said Sol. "Don't move. I'm going to tell the others where you are and call an ambulance," said Venus. She returned to camp and told the others how she found Sol. Then she called 911. The reception on her phone was poor, but she tried her best to explain what had happened to Sol. When Venus finished the call, she told her friends that she was going to wait with him and headed back to the overlook. "Help is on the way," she told her injured brother. He was very calm despite the condition he was in. Later at the hospital, it was revealed that Sol had a broken ankle and a few broken ribs. He would be kept there overnight for observation. Venus was glad that Sol didn't have worse injuries, but she wished he had been more careful. --- (Timeskip, two years later, the present) Venus was at home, thinking about Sol, making a trek all the way to cold Alaska. Back when he had told her about Leo's letter, she had tried to talk him out of going to Alaska, but Sol insisted that Leo needed his help. Venus didn't think driving straight across North America was very practical. Besides, Sol and Venus were from Florida. How would a Florida man fare in Alaska? And what if he ran into trouble along the way? Venus was worried about Sol. As if to offer some reassurance, her phone dinged. It was a text from Sol, saying that he had arrived safely in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Venus set the phone next to a map of the US and Canada and pointed to Chattanooga, which was directly above a corner of Georgia. She followed the roads with her finger through the Midwest, into the Rockies, and up through Canada. She stopped when she got to Alaska because she had no idea which part of Alaska Leo lived in. She hoped that Sol knew where he was going. ---- I really enjoyed animating this! Sol and Venus are so cute as children. Boy, I wish I had some MAPs to join. And since this is Leo's first appearance, he gets a bio! --Leo's Bio-- Name: Leo Aster Age: 34 years Gender: Male (he/him) Personality: Brave, adventurous, slightly paranoid Race: Caucasian Home: Somewhere in Alaska Character refs: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/574529930 More Sun and Moon projects: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/30613191/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Art/animation: @ruby-animation Characters: Venus, Sol, and Leo (all belong to me) Song: How to Save a Life (Grey's Anatomy cover) Inspiration: @FlowerCat4444 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Unlike last time, where I used a picture of the famous bridge instead of drawing it, I went all out and traced a roadmap of the US!
