On the porch of the orphanage she was sent to, 16 year old Whiz waited. The cold wings blew through her silver white-streaked hair, forcing the hood of her pitch black cloak off her head. Whiz didn't try to fix it. "You may call me Obsidian." The voice startled Whiz. She stood, facing a tall young woman dressed in all black. Her eyes were neither kind or welcoming, and they sent a chill up Whiz's spine. Her eyes. They were pure black, with no spark of anything in them at all. "Well? Come on in." Whiz bowed her head and followed her. She led Whiz into a dusty old room covered with cobwebs. 2 others were there, and they looked about Whiz's age. One of them sat on a wooden stole with her arms crossed. She had blue hair, a mask, and dressed in all gray. She looked very bored. The other was shorter than both of them with forest green hair, and she wore clothes made of treebark and vines. Obsidian walked out. "Oh! Hi, who are you? I'm Whiz, nice to meet you" Whiz said cheerfully, shaking the green-haired girl's hand very hard. "My name is Oak." She pointed to the blue-haired girl. "Over there is Nix." "She looks grumpy," Whiz observed. "I can hear you, you know!" Nix growled. "Let's sneak out and explore!" Whiz said, ignoring Nix and dragging them both out. "WHIZ NO-" ___________ "Wow! Guys, you won't believe what I found!" Whiz exclaimed. She held up a book. It was something in a language they all couldn't read. Nix snatched it from her hands. "Hey!" Whiz said, but didn't try to get it back. Nix ignored her. She flipped through the pages, wiping up the dust. "Whoa, this is seriously old." Footsteps. Shadows moving towards them, closer and closer, and Obsidian emerged. "What are you three doing in my office?" she asked, narrowing her eyes.
