Augh, the description was too long again! I had to move the intro and the first part of the story here! I really need to make these things shorter! This is the longest lore description I've ever written! (besides the history of the Maximus family, but I don't think that counts.) It's ridiculous! (Description) Happy New Year! 2022 was "pretty decent" in my opinion. It's time for Esther's debut! This meme was the best one I could think of for a trio of characters. Also, this meme isn't meant to be edgy, although Esther is kinda an edgy character. I'm really proud of Esther's clip. It looks like she's really moving. I think the next projects in this series will be about Leo and Venus's subplots (learn more about them here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/714518378 and https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/777745945/ ) so suggest songs I could use for them! Also, please invite me to MAPs! By the way, I retconned Luna's eye color. I know I said they were gray in an earlier project, but when I tried make them gray in this project, it looked weird, so I changed them to brown. Plus, it's more natural. Fun fact: Exactly 2 years ago, a Scratcher I inspired off of used the same meme to continue the lore of her story, just like I'm doing. (I'd rather not credit her or link the project because she doesn't want people looking at those projects anymore.) Here we go! (Third person, Esther's perspective, following the events of "Esther's Escape" from Sol and Luna side stories) Esther had traveled for miles on her skateboard since the early morning. She had left a foster family that had treated her badly. The family's teenage girl had picked a fight with Esther that escalated to the point where Esther got locked in the basement. Now Esther was on the lam, heading north with no clear destination in mind. She had nothing but the clothes on her back, her skateboard, and her backpack, which held everything she owned, including memories of her late parents. Near lunchtime, she arrived in Gainesville feeling hungry because she hadn't eaten all day. It was here where she would have an important rendezvous. Esther went to a gas station hoping that a passer-by would give her something to eat or money for a snack. After an hour without success, she decided to check the dumpster. Esther peeked out at the parking lot after a quick search through garbage and saw a gold sedan pull up. When it parked, a man with blonde hair in his early twenties stepped out. He was heading toward the dumpster where Esther hid, carrying a wrapped sandwich, an apple, and a can of orange soda. She wished she had an orange soda, as it was her favorite drink besides coffee. /Is he going to throw those out?/ Esther wondered. "Hey, you hungry?" the young man called. Esther looked at him without letting him see her. He seemed kind, but she didn't trust him yet. (continued in notes and credits) ---

Description

(continued from instructions) (Third person, Sol's perspective, moments earlier when he pulls into the gas station) Sol parked the car. "That teenager looks pretty hungry to me," said Luna. He saw a teenage girl with short black hair with green dyed streaks and some blue in the back, wearing a red leather jacket dart behind the dumpster. "You want me to give her one of our sandwiches?" Sol asked. "I guess. She looks like she's come a long way from home," said Luna. Sol grabbed a sandwich, an apple, and a can of orange soda from the cooler. He got out of the car and went over to the dumpster. He couldn't see the teenager anymore, but he could hear scuffling noises nearby. "Hey! You hungry?" he asked. Silence. He knew the girl was there, but she was hiding. " 'Cause I have a turkey, cheese, and mayonnaise sandwich and an orange soda!" Sol added. A young female voice said, "But I don't like mayonnaise, sir." "Well, I didn't put that much on, because my mother-in-law said it was fattening. Heh," Sol chuckled. The girl's voice seemed to come from the trees around parking lot. "Leave them by the dumpster." "Sorry, young lady. I can only give this to you if you show yourself," said Sol. He heard another scuffling nose and the teenager appeared. "There you are. Good," said Sol. The girl slowly walked up to him. "So what where you doing behind the dumpster?" Sol wondered. "Nothing," the girl replied. "What is your name?" asked Sol. "Esther, sir," answered the girl. Sol gave Esther the sandwich and soda. She popped the can open and drank greedily. "You left home, didn't you?" said Sol. "Where are you from?" Esther burped. "Um... ummm... Alaska." "Alaska!" exclaimed Sol. "That's a long way from here and that just so happens to be where we're headed! Guess we'd better take you along. Follow me." Sol headed to his car. "Wait, sir. I need to get my backpack that I left at the dumpster," said Esther. "Alright," said Sol. "You're pretty blessed that we happened to meet. We're going to Alaska and that's where you said you live. You'd be going home." Sol followed Esther all the way back to the dumpster and watched her retrieve a neon purple and green backpack, straight from the '80s. He went back with her to his car and let her in the back. "Luna, this girl said she's from Alaska. Maybe we should take her there with us," Sol explained to his wife. "Odd coincidence," she said. --- (back to Esther's perspective) As Esther got in the back seat, she saw the woman in the passenger seat, the one called "Luna." She was African-American with hair that was dyed a bluish silver. She was about the same age as the young man and looked just as kind as him. After he had talked it over with Luna, who soon agreed to take Esther along, the man prepared to drive back to the highway. They actually believed Esther was from Alaska, which wasn't even true. When the young man had asked Esther where she was from, she was ready to lie. She was originally going to say Texas, but then she thought Alaska might be cooler. She had no idea that Alaska happened to be where he was traveling to. "So how do you feel about worrying your parents, Esther?" asked Luna. "My parents are dead, ma'am," said Esther. "That's a shame, kid," said Luna's partner sympathetically. "So, who do you live with?" "Some other relatives, sir," Esther lied. She began to eat her sandwich as the two adults fired more questions at her. She was so hungry that she forgot to scrape the mayonnaise off of it, but it still tasted great that way. "By the way, Esther," began young man, "My name's Mr. Day, but you can call me Sol. And this is my wife, Luna." Sol Day continued chatting with Esther. She noticed that Luna Day was quieter than her husband. At one point, Esther accidentally spilled the soda on her sandwich, and now it was orange and slightly soggy. Soon she finished the soda and the sandwich and started on the apple. Later, after Esther gave Sol the core, she started to go to sleep. "Poor girl, she's had a hard day," she heard Luna say. ---- I had so much fun with this! I'm happy that I was able to make this project so quickly after the last one (though I'm not really sure when the next one will come, I need song ideas.) And this is Esther's first appearance in a meme/AMV project! Not giving her a bio because she already has one in the refs (link below.) Parts of this were inspired by "Bud Not Buddy" by Christopher P. Curtis. Thank you for reading this far!
